OPC DA? Hmmm, Old PC used for Distribution Automation??

[edit]

No one contributing to this article thought to write out what OPC stands for, Open Platform Communications. There's a link to another Wikipedia page, but this whole article is just about pointless without such a basic understanding. As if OPC DA could only mean one thing and one thing only. Ask a lawyer about the IP stack and he/she will show you a box of patents.Jelsova (talk) 04:10, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is about the specific OPC-DA protocol, not a generic concept, and so is only talking about one thing. OPC in this case stands for OLE for Process Control. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.45.116.95 (talk) 00:34, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, probably best if we merged some of these into a single coherent article that gives context to non-experts. Experts will already know the context! Propose Open Platform Communications for target. W Nowicki (talk) 21:30, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
