Great article, maybe it should go more in depth?

[edit]

I think this article would benefit from some formulas. Gnkgr (talk) 07:52, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MPG

[edit]

In the example the miles per gallon figures could just be used directly (scaled to sum to 1) as the weights. Would be good as an example of doing this. Pairwise comparison of them, as shown, is an extremely long-winded way of doing the same thing. Ben Finn (talk) 10:34, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Omitting minor criteria

[edit]

Presumably after finding the global weight of the criteria or sub-criteria you can drop one or more of the lowest weight ones (eg style, cargo capacity) as unlikely to make any difference, to simplify the process. You could presumably then reintroduce them at the end if required to break a tie or near-tie between alternatives. And presumably the weights would tell you whether doing so would have any possibility of breaking a near-tie.

Assuming this is a known procedure in AHP, it would be good to mention it. Ben Finn (talk) 10:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
