STATCOM can also mean "Statistics in the Community", which is a group of graduate students in statistics who give pro bono statistical consulting for non-profits, local governments, etc. There was an article about this recently in AMSTAT which can be read here. Need photo and circuit diagrams

eg to compare with the diagram in Static synchronous series compensator. Description not clear to a non expert - eg what is the "reactor" mentioned ? - Rod57 (talk) 17:42, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
