14:44:10, 24 February 2023 review of draft by Lexonic
Hi
I've submitted this page a couple of times with additional references, but unsure where to go next.
Max is an experienced character actor with a significant body of work and multiple external validations of his recognition on industry, fan and social forums.
His profile has grown recently having been appeared in the House of the Dragon and I was surprised to see that he did not have a page already (as there are multiple references to him on other Wikipedia pages and on Wikidata Commons).
Is this being rejected because of my disclosed conflict of interest? I've tried to be as objective and factual as possible.
Look forward to any advice on how to proceed!
Lex

- We prefer the term "article" and not "page" to refer to the content of the encyclopedia. The sources you have offered are not appropriate for establishing notability; we need independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the topic. Please see the message left by the reviewer. 331dot (talk) 15:43, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. Noted regarding the correct terminology. I've read the page on sources and thought that those I referenced would be considered sufficiently authoritative. It's not clear to me what the criteria for notability are for actors/performers. The subject of the article has featured in major movies and TV programmes. Is there a better way to link to the media he has featured in as a reliable source? Lexonic (talk) 16:56, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- The definition of a notable actor is written at WP:NACTOR. Linking to the media he has been in is not the issue, there must be independent reliable sources that give him significant coverage- not just merely documenting what he has done. 331dot (talk) 21:56, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Lexonic The sources need to talk about him. David10244 (talk) 05:41, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

15:28:50, 24 February 2023 review of draft by Mmberney
The last comment the draft received relates to the fact that the GM Ringway is in its early planning stages. Rather than losing the draft article altogether, is there a way to save it from deletion until the subject is 'live'? Many thanks.
Mmberney (talk) 15:28, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Drafts are only deleted after six months of inactivity(assuming it's not promotional/vandalism/etc). If you make edits to the draft it will remain in place. 331dot (talk) 15:40, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

I improved the draft by adding content and sources. It is no longer a single sentence and should therefore be re-reviewed. Formula Downforce (talk) 16:08, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Formula Downforce, given it has been a year since the last review and you added additional sources, I have placed a template on the draft so you can submit it for review. S0091 (talk) 17:33, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

- It was deleted here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ghazal Saremi for failing WP:GNG and WP:NACTOR, your new draft did not improve on the first one. Other countries have very less strict inclusion guidelines too. Theroadislong (talk) 22:04, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Ehsancdn each Wikipedia language is its own project with its own rules and guidelines so an article acceptable on one language may not be acceptable on another and the English Wikipedia, as Theroadislong states, tends to more strict. Read through all the material linked in the decline notice. S0091 (talk) 22:07, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- I just mean that if playing as an actress and having lots of websites and news sources talking about someone can't prove that the person is notable, then what else can?
- Tell me what things should I fix exactly so that the article can be approved? Please Ehsancdn Ehsancdn (talk) 23:07, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- Please review the links provided here, to see why the article was deleted. You must address the main reason that the article was deleted, that the person does not meet WP:NACTOR. 331dot (talk) 16:01, 25 February 2023 (UTC)

why my article rejected?
you can cheack and review university page article in this list. some of the university have poor content but there is live but not my article rejected. List of institutions of higher education in Madhya Pradesh Shyamalogic (talk) 05:31, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- Shyamalogic We don't need the whole url when you wish to link to another page on Wikipedia, simply place the title of the target article or page in double brackets like this: [[Joe Biden]].
- Regarding your question, other poor articles existing is not a reason to add more poor articles. See other stuff exists. As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate articles to get by us, in many ways. We can only address what we know about. That an article exists does not mean that it was approved by anyone. If you want to use other articles as a model or guide, use those classified as good articles, which have been vetted by the community. If you would like to help us out, you are welcome to work to identify other articles that do not meet the criteria so we can take action. This is the end of the line for your draft, though, and you will need to move on. 331dot (talk) 15:57, 25 February 2023 (UTC)

Dear Wiki Editor: I summitted this question four days ago and have and no response so I am trying again.
I submitted my Los Pleneros la 21 draft article on Jan 14, 2023. I realize it may take several months for the review, but I just want to confirm that I have done everything I need to do in order to insure that the draft has been correctly submitted and at this point there is nothing else that I need to do. I am concerned that I have not done something right in the submission process and my draft article is not in the queue for review. Please advise and thanks, raylaur15
- Hi Raylaur15 I took a quick look at the draft, it is correctly submitted and awaiting review. While I was there I fixed a minority error - there should never be a heading above the lead. I unfortunately do not consider myself qualified to evaluate the draft, so I have not done a review. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 14:57, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back to me Roger and thanks for the heading correction.
- Glad to know the article was correctly submitted.
- best,

07:48:12, 26 February 2023 review of submission by Keohaj01
Good morning,
I have just logged into see if there were any updates on the draft I submitted on Sagar Kamble and see that it has been rejected, this is the first time I have attempted to set up a wiki page. Are you able to tell me why it's been rejected and what I can do to get it accepted?
Many thanks, Jo
Keohaj01 (talk) 07:48, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- Keohaj01 The term "article" and not "page" is preferred when referring to the content of the encyclopedia(or potential content). I assume this is about Draft:Sagar Kamble. The reviewer left the reason for the rejection at the top of the draft; please review it and the policies linked to therein. You may also wish to review the definition of a notable person which you must show that this person meets. 331dot (talk) 07:59, 26 February 2023 (UTC)

- TommyESC464 I don't entirely understand what you're asking; do you want to rename the draft, or create a new one? 331dot (talk) 16:16, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- I am asking about the subject of a draft article and how I change it. TommyESC464 (talk) 16:25, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- TommyESC464 You should just create a new draft. The other draft will be deleted after six months of inactivity, or if you were the main contributor you can do an author-request speedy deletion(place {{db-g7}} on the draft you want deleted). 331dot (talk) 18:06, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, however it is important this gets deleted soon or change to International Song Competition as it is a large scale event and after May will be actively viewed and edited. TommyESC464 (talk) 20:16, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- Well, no, it is not important (there is no deadline), and I'm afraid I, too, fail to understand what you mean. Is the Eurovision song contest going to change its name? If so, there is no need to delete a draft about the ESC – when the time is right to create an article about the 2024 version, the draft can just be moved to a new name. --bonadea contributions talk 18:28, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

Athomas3004 (talk) 13:54, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Athomas3004 weasel words are things like 'suffer his first defeat". Just say he was defeated, rather than something he suffered from. @InterstellarGamer12321 may have some additional examples they can share. If there are not sufficient in-depth sources about him to support WP:NBIO or WP:GNG then an article is not possible. I suggest checking Google Books and posting a note at WT:WikiProject Boxing to see if the are other editors interested in helping. Also, that quote is way too long. See MOS:QUOTES for guidance. Where is my problem and how can I improve it to enter Wikipedia Amadacuper (talk) 13:55, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Amadacuper I've provided a link to the draft for you. First, I gather that you may be associated with this business, please read WP:COI and WP:PAID for information on required formal disclosures. There are also special rules for editing about cryptocurrency related topics, I will notify you of these on your user talk page.
- Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something and what it does or what its offerings are. A Wikipedia article about a business must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Announcements of routine business activities, brief mentions, press releases and the like do not establish notability. Please read the messages left by reviewers, as well as the policies linked to therein, on your draft. 331dot (talk) 14:03, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- I do not have this business related situation, how can I prove it for my article Amadacuper (talk) 14:50, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Amadacuper If you have no relationship with this business, you don't need to prove anything. How did you come to edit about it? 331dot (talk) 15:45, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- The current feedback to me is that I have a relationship with the company. The business I am editing is just a business that has no profile on Wikipedia. So I try to create and contribute something. Excuse me, how can I write the information to pass the review? The wikipedia help and the review's feedback didn't help me Amadacuper (talk) 15:56, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Again, how did you come to pick this company to edit about, and not a different one? You didn't pick it at random. Wikipedia does not have profiles, not a single one. Wikipedia has articles. Articles summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. You did a nice job of telling of the existence of the company and its activities, but that's not what we are looking for. We are looking for sources that go into detail about what they see as significant or influential about the company. 331dot (talk) 16:04, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- I can't find any mention of BYXG in any the draft's sources? Theroadislong (talk) 16:13, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- I am currently trying to write about some companies, and there is no information about a Paxful in the Wikipedia resource. I just saw companies trying to edit that were not in the resource. But you think that I have any relationship with the company, which should not be. My purpose is to learn and try to become a Wikipedian, to be able to contribute to the Wikipedia. I wish I could get help from the wiki Amadacuper (talk) 16:23, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Amadacuper Ok. You are not affiliated with BYXG. However, BYXG is not mentioned in the draft's sources, as Theroadislong has said above.
- notability has a special definition on Wikipedia. It is not determined by views or virality but rather in-depth coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. In-depth, reliable sources, and independent are hard to judge. So, to learn to become a Wikipedian, I would recommend starting with an easier task. Copyedit or add wikilinks.
- When I first started I jumped right into AfD which was a horrible idea. Now, with more experience poking around the many corners of Wikipedia, I can more accurately judge notability and know when to AfD, Merge, PROD, or Speedy Delete. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 22:24, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

I would like to create a page for SensUs, an international student competition for biosensing. The draft has recently been rejected. The news sources that talk about this topic are Dutch. I was wondering, would it be possible to only create a Dutch wikipedia page on this topic? Babette van Leeuwen (talk) 14:48, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Babette van Leeuwen You declared a conflict of interest; what is the nature of it? As to your question, you would have to ask at the Dutch Wikipedia, which is a separate project with its own editors and policies. The reason it was declined(not rejected) has nothing to do with the sources being Dutch, which is permitted per policy. 331dot (talk) 15:49, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

This has been rejected but I'm unsure of what is wrong with the citations I have given. Can someone please advise how I should change them? Thanks.
WriterGP (talk) 17:26, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- It was declined, not rejected. "Rejected" has a specific meaning, that resubmission would not be possible. Declined means resubmission is possible. 331dot (talk) 17:31, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- WriterGP, your article has just one reference at the end of most sections. See WP:MINREF for minimum standards. For example, you have a quote from the Middlesex County Times which is not supported by a footnote. Also, please use template citations like Template:Cite news which will make it easier to read for reviewers and anyone who needs to verify the information. Looking for a re-review as I do not understand why the article was refused - please explain - this is for a Dr Jamie Lachman at the UNiversity of Oxford to engage with others and to highlight his profile
Jamie Lachman (talk) 18:34, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- "to engage with others and to highlight his profile" I'm afraid that is NOT what Wikipedia is for, I suggest you use social media. Theroadislong (talk) 18:46, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Jamie Lachman Furthermore, if you are not Jamie Lachman, you will need to change your username as you cannot use his name as your username unless you are him. Please go to Special:GlobalRenameRequest or WP:CHUS to make a change request. 331dot (talk) 19:41, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- I'll add - Oxford is a bit odd about it, so it's possible Lachman is notable by Wikipedia's standards, but it's very unusual for someone at the rank of research/teaching fellow (even "senior") to pass the guidelines at WP:NPROF. It's the PI/prof level where you tend to meet those criteria. -- asilvering (talk) 22:56, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

I am a fan and i want more people to be able to reach the artist. This page is going to be more notable as time progresses he is young and passionate about his work, he is working as a food delivery in -5 Celcius please give him atleast that. Thank you very much!
KANENASWiki (talk) 22:33, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @KANENASWiki Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not social media so is not the correct venue to "reach an artist". Notability must already be met to warrant an article (see also WP:TOOSOON). The draft is rejected meaning it will no long be considered at this time. S0091 (talk) 22:47, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- His songs have literally milions of hits on youtube, also a reason i want this here is because i really like Wikipedia and it would mean a lot to me if you where a bit more linient i have been passivly using Wikipedia for years, let me be a bit more active. I could use some positive vibes right now. Becides how do i know when he is notable enough, i think he is but even more that he would. KANENASWiki (talk) 23:37, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- @KANENASWiki Thanks for your support of the website, but we can't accept this article as notability hasn't been proved. He can be considered notable when there are multiple reliable, independent and in-depth sources about them. Additionally, the draft currently reads as promotional, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. As S0091 said above, the draft has been rejected and will not be considered at this time. Thanks, echidnaLives - talk - edits 23:44, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

Hello,
I recently translated a page from Arabic to English. However, it got rejected because there were "no reliable sources". The thing is: this is a translation and I have used the Arabic sources that have been approved for the original page. I assumed it would only get rejected if the translation was inaccurate or anything, but why would a translation get rejected for relying on the original article's sources? Isn't the aim of translation to make it more accessible to English speaking audiences? Or am I getting it wrong?
Thank you.

- Hi IP, first the draft was not rejected, only declined. The difference is significant because a decline allows for resubmission (improve and try again) while a rejection does not (end of road). Second, each language is its own project with its own policies and guidelines so an article acceptable in one language may be not acceptable in another and vice versa. The English language Wikipedia tends to more strict than others. Read through the material linked in the decline message which provides the notability and sourcing criteria. 14:17:42, 28 February 2023 review of draft by Groden16
I am requesting help to figure out what significant coverage means when it comes to notability. I made a draft for an article of Barry Blechman, and it was rejected for not having significant coverage by unbiased secondary sources. However, in the article it is noted that he was a former advisor to President Jimmy Carter and the co-founder of a major think tank. Is this insufficient to warrant an article? Thank you.
Groden16 (talk) 14:17, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Groden16 The reviewer left a comment on the draft speaking to this, but to answer you, there must be sources that go into detail about this person and tell what is important or significant about them. Advising Carter could be significant, but we need to know why as independent sources see it. 331dot (talk) 15:49, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

I need help figuring out what exactly my pending article (Sugar Valley Rural Charter School) needs to be properly written and formatted. I keep thinking my article is meeting all of the criteria, but it keeps getting declined. I'm also confused of why some editors think my article contains paid contributions, when in fact it does not at all. I want to remove any indication that my article does, but I am unsure where any person would get the notion of this from.
GMorris419 (talk) 15:47, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- People think you are an employee of the school based on your writing. Since you told me earlier that you aren't, and are a student, that's all you need to say. Regarding your question, you have done well to document the existence of the school and its new wing, but that's not what we are looking for. The opening of a building for the school is a routine activity that does not establish that the school meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. There must be sigificant coverage in independent reliable sources, coverage that goes into detail as to what is important/significant/influential about the school. Does it rank highly in test results or state rankings? Has it implemented a unique education model that others emulate? Things like that. 331dot (talk) 15:57, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

I am just curious because I've written this draft and the other members' articles (HORI7ON) were already approved. They were Vinci Malizon and Jeromy Batac. I actually used the same sources as them and added more references and citation but the reviewer said insufficient sources. Can you tell me what's wrong? Thank you!
Mister.lucky95 (talk) 16:40, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Mister.lucky95 Please read other stuff exists. Other articles existing has no bearing on yours- it could be that these other articles are also inappropriate, and you would not be aware of this. An article can exist without being "approved" by anyone, in many ways. The issue is not the number of sources, but the quality of sources. Few high-quality sources are preferable to a large number of low-quality sources. We are looking for a draft to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the person, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person or more narrowly a notable musician. We aren't looking for announcments of their activities, but sources that go in depth about the person, discussing what they see as signficant/important/influential about the person. 331dot (talk) 20:06, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

I am wondering why the article is getting rejected everytime where similar such article are in there. There are several references as well.
Avik tubai (talk) 17:33, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Avik tubai See above and see also WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. The existence of other articles has no bearing on the draft as standards have changes over time so existing articles may not meet today's standards and things do still get by when they should not. S0091 (talk) 17:50, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Avik tubai If you would like to help us out, you can identify some of these other articles you have seen that are also inappropriate so we can take action. We can only address what we know about. If you want to use other articles as a model or example, use those classified as good articles, which have been examined by the community. 331dot (talk) 20:08, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Please also note that repeatedly adding spam like this "Banglahunt is a leading digital media channel who collaborated with Polstreet during 2023 election. https://banglahunt.com/tripura-nagaland-meghalaya-exit-poll-kd/" to articles will quickly lead to a block. Hi! I am requesting another re-review of this draft. This draft was declined and was considered not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia 19 days ago. So I updated the draft and removed some sources that were either interviews and quotes, etc. Please have it reviewed one more time. Thank you. Bmjc98 (talk) 16:38, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Bmjc98 Rejection typically means that a draft may not be considered again. If there is new information that the reviewer did not have to consider, addressing the concerns given by past reviews, your first step is to appeal to the reviewer that rejected the draft. 331dot (talk) 16:51, 1 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I am trying to edit and create a company page for Filevine, and trying to model the page after Clio (Software Company), Here is a link to their page Clio (software company)
I have edited the page to removed any type of promotional language and write about it in a neutral language, but I keep getting flagged for promotional writing.
I have a theory it could be from the awards and the achievement section of the article, I am open to any suggestions.
Marcosfv2020 (talk) 06:03, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Marcosfv2020 We don't need the whole url when linking to another article or page on Wikipedia, simply place the title of the target page in double brackets like this, [[Joe Biden]] gives Joe Biden.
- It's not always a good idea to use any random article as a model or guide, as the article you view could have problems that you would be unaware of. If you want to use other articles as a model, use those classified as good articles, which have been vetted by the community.
- Wikipedia is not a place for a company to document its existence and tell of its activities. A Wikipedia article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. We aren't interested in what a company says about itself, or in its routine business activities, but in sources that on their own describe what is significant/important/influential about the company as they see it, not as the company sees it.
- Awards typically do not contribute to notability unless there is an article about the awards itself(such as Academy Award or Nobel Peace Prize). Some of the awards you name are for company staff, not the company itself- and most of the ones about the company are frankly not particularly significant. 331dot (talk) 09:02, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
