As for the draft, thoroughly read WP:NCORP for the notability and sourcing requirements. I've added a section, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minoxidil#Low_dose_oral_treatment. A user, Whywhenwhohow, removed it citing, "The information is based on a primary source and is not WP:MEDRS, WP:MEDMOS". I disagree with their assessment (while there is a primary source, there are other peer-reviewed sources as well).

I've tried reaching out to them to explain, point by point, why I think their assessment is incorrect but either my message did not reach or they've ignored it. So, as things stand, we just keep undoing each other's edits... which is ridiculous.

How do I establish one-on-one contact with Whywhenwhohow?

The article doesn't passes WP:GNG but passes WP:NPOL because he has been member and deputy chairperson of legislative bodies at sub national level.

@LordVoldemort728: The draft still needs to be expanded significantly before it is suitable for mainspace. If the subject passes WP:NPOL, then there should be several independent references with significant coverage on him that could be used to expand the article. @InterstellarGamer12321 Wikipedia:NPOL doesn't say that for passing notability guidelines "there should be several independent references with significant coverage on him". Hi @Kikima it is very unlikely other editors will make adjustments to the draft so it is largely on you to do so. I will say you need cite the sources appropriately using in-line citations, which is required for WP:BLPs and much of the content is unsourced so that needs to be rectified. It is also unclear how she meets the the notability guidelines. Also for it to be reviewed, you need to submit it. The article was declined due to a lack of secondary sources.

Vladimir Baranov and Scott Tanner are scientists, not public figures, so coverage of their academic achievements are not well documented by the general press.

For the Manning Award, the primary source was the Manning Website, and the secondary source The Globe and Mail Newspaper article that mentions both of them. Not great but I could not find any other source for this 2001 Award.

For the HUPO Award the primary source was the HUPO website, and the secondary source Bloomberg.com. Again, not great. But again, scientific achievements are not covered well by the press.


His inventions, the Dynamic Reaction Cell and Mass Cytometry have their own Wikipedia pages at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collision/reaction_cell and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_cytometry

I am at a dead end. I cannot find any other secondary sources and thus cannot get past the Wikipedia Notability test despite his work/inventions being cited/published on Wikipedia.

Do you have any recommendations that would get this article published?

@Miekfin take a look at the notability guidelines for academics. I think there may be an argument he meets that bar. I suggest resubmitting with a note a draft's talk page (Draft talk:Vladimir Baranov) how he meets one of the criteria. Be concise, though (i.e. he meets #8 because....). What you need are secondary reliable sources, unconnected to the club and Green that have written in-depth about Green (not interviews or what they say themselves). Spal07 That another article exists does not necessarily mean that it was approved or accepted by anyone; there are numerous ways for inappropriate content to get past us, see other stuff exists. It could be that this other article has similar problems as your draft and you wouldn't be aware of this. If you want to use other articles as a model, use those classified as good articles, which have been vetted by the community.

I feel like this Hotel deserves a page. The Convention Center Hotel in Portland Oregon for example, which is also a Hyatt Regency has a page so why can't this? AustinSpotter Wikipedia has articles, not pages. This is not a database of hotels, this is an encyclopedia with criteria for inclusion, called notability. You have no independent reliable sources to support the content of the article. To merit an article, you must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the hotel, showing how it meets the definition of notability. Sorry for this, but the Portland Hyatt Regency is smaller than the SLC Hyatt Regency and yet both are attached to huge convention centers and the SLC Regency is a part of a larger convention center than the Portland one but somehow the Portland one deserves a page and not the SLC one... The SLC convension center has 515,000 sq ft of convention space and Portland only has around 250,000 sq ft... Just saying your reasoning doesn't make sense when the Portland once exists also. You continue to miss the point, it may qualify for an article but the onus is on you to prove it meets our inclusion criteria of Wikipedia:Notability through proper sourcing. I do not understand why my article has been rejected. The only way to get a new thing in science widely accepted among the growing population is to put it out there for people to discover. Even if it seems unrealistic, there is nothing untrue about the lockhart as it was invented under the same circumstances as widely used units such as the newton and the volt. IP user, Wikipedia does not lead, it follows- only when a subject is out there, discussed by independent reliable sources who choose on their own to discuss it, can a subject then merit a Wikipedia article. I've submitted this page a couple of times with additional references, but unsure where to go next.

Max is an experienced character actor with a significant body of work and multiple external validations of his recognition on industry, fan and social forums.

His profile has grown recently having been appeared in the House of the Dragon and I was surprised to see that he did not have a page already (as there are multiple references to him on other Wikipedia pages and on Wikidata Commons).

Is this being rejected because of my disclosed conflict of interest? I've tried to be as objective and factual as possible.

We prefer the term "article" and not "page" to refer to the content of the encyclopedia. Thanks for the response. Noted regarding the correct terminology. I've read the page on sources and thought that those I referenced would be considered sufficiently authoritative. It's not clear to me what the criteria for notability are for actors/performers. The subject of the article has featured in major movies and TV programmes. Hi @Ehsancdn each Wikipedia language is its own project with its own rules and guidelines so an article acceptable on one language may not be acceptable on another and the English Wikipedia, as Theroadislong states, tends to more strict. Shyamalogic We don't need the whole url when you wish to link to another page on Wikipedia, simply place the title of the target article or page in double brackets like this: [[Joe Biden]].
Regarding your question, other poor articles existing is not a reason to add more poor articles. See other stuff exists. As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate articles to get by us, in many ways. We can only address what we know about. That an article exists does not mean that it was approved by anyone. If you want to use other articles as a model or guide, use those classified as good articles, which have been vetted by the community. If you would like to help us out, you are welcome to work to identify other articles that do not meet the criteria so we can take action. Hi Raylaur15 I took a quick look at the draft, it is correctly submitted and awaiting review. While I was there I fixed a minority error - there should never be a heading above the lead.
