Canadian marines
Could I ask you to revert back in the Canadian section in the article on Marines if I promise to immediately provide references? Bluenose Gunner (talk) 18:34, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Bluenose Gunner: You're more than welcome to re-add the content with references and it's great that you want to. You can check out this page's history here to retrieve any content that has been removed. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:05, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- Could you do the revert to the last "Canadian" version and I will add the refs? I do not know how to do reversion with a smart phone Bluenose Gunner (talk) 19:15, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Bluenose Gunner I've undone the edit. Have at 'er! Hey man im josh (talk) 19:16, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

- Thanks so much @Stephanie921, I really appreciate the Barnstar, they're absolutely wonderful to receive =) Hey man im josh (talk) 12:52, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you, I appreciate the intent and effort to be helpful, but it's actually 11 Barnstars, a goat, coffee, and a brownie, so I'm only counting the Barnstars in that box. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:32, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Abortion in Vermont
That IP address at that talk page is threatening to file a Stonewalling complaint if they get reverted again. They've been misusing the policies to threaten people and said that since no-one responded to them they can revert the page. They also harassed me on my talk page. What do you suggest we do? I don't think this counts as Canvassing - since this isn't about wanting a desired outcome - but is rather about that IP violating the rules to get their own way Stephanie921 (talk) 14:13, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- While I wouldn't say that their message on your talk page was harassment or threatening, I can understand why you might feel that way.
- I've written up a few replies to you today and I keep deleting them because I just don't know the best way to help in this instance and I don't want to steer you down the wrong path. Yes, the user is in dispute with several editors, but I can't point to anything to say that they're in the wrong. They're clearly knowledgeable on Wiki policy, more so than I am. As I advised VictimofEntropy, I think your best bet is to seek help from editors more experienced than I am at the WP:Villagepump or WP:Dispute resolution.
- So long as you're editing based on good faith and you listen to feedback from administrators, I wouldn't be too concerned about them creating a post in WP:ANI. You may not like the end result, but unfortunately that's just how it goes sometimes. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:29, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- I thought it was harassment because they keep on acting as if I'm obligated to reply to them instantly and reverting their edits when I don't. They used me making other edits to justify that, when I hadn't even said I wasn't going to reply to them - I just edited other pages after their messages to me - and they used that as an excuse to try and mischaracterise my behaviour
and revert their edits even though I'm not obligated to respond to them before I edit other pages I reverted the first harassing instance on my talk but they then pinged me on my page to the Abortion in Vermont talk message threatening everybody. I have not reverted that ping Stephanie921 (talk) 14:14, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Ooh btw, I noticed you kept calling me 'they' when talking to FishAndChipper about me - so I'd like to clarify that my pronouns are she/her :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stephanie921 (talk • contribs) 15:08, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- I sometimes prefer to just go the easy route and call everybody a they. Makes it easier personally, but I appreciate you reaching out to clarify. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:59, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Oh ok, that's fair enough Josh. I thought u just didn't know my pronouns :) In that case you can call me they if u like Stephanie921 (talk) 18:02, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
why did you edit my sex worker again?
any reason? Volkan1881 (talk) 16:28, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- You removed a portion of the lead, removed a reference, and added a picture for some reason in a place where it's not an improvement. See your dif here. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:32, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback Josh. Sorry, I don't have a specific citation, but I can't believe nobody has said it before. It's rather obvious, isn't it? 174.51.103.111 (talk) 17:09, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, I am from Poland and I did not know how to use wikipedia in another language - my error He writes from a translator Mam na imie Piotr 2A00:F41:2CDE:7B3B:64FD:B89:8C75:F6B7 (talk) 20:36, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's best to stick to editing on the Polish Wiki if you need to use a translator, and that translator is somehow accidently mass deleting content. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:47, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Template:Kansas City Chiefs roster
Hey please be careful when reverting. I don't know if it was an accident or intentional but the Carlos Dunlap transaction is official. The Chiefs announced it this afternoon.--Rockchalk717 23:28, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Rockchalk717, sorry about that, it was definitely accidental. You always know what's what for NFL templates and pages and I wouldn't have removed your edit intentionally. I don't even bother to fact check your changes because they're always right lol. One edit too far back when restoring >.< Hey man im josh (talk) 01:11, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Arnold Lodge School edit
Hello!
I noticed that you removed my edit for ALS as above, saying that it wasn’t an improvement and it wasn’t sourced. How would I go about sourcing such a thing? There are multiple job sites with reviews that say the same thing about the place, but I don’t know if that counts.
I would also have to disagree about if not bring an improvement, as I think seeing as it is true then just because it isn’t a good thing I don’t see why it’s not improving and adding to the content on the page.
All the best! InsidiousHappenings (talk) 06:45, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
- Job review websites typically wouldn't be considered reliable sources. They would also fall under opinions and bias that's usually removed from articles. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:09, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
I hear what you are saying. I don’t think I’ll be able to source this one. I know it to be true, but I can’t find a good source. I would however like to discuss you saying my content wasn’t adding anything. That is an opinion, and I don’t think that opinions should be a part of the moderating process. If opinions are part of any moderating process, certain viewpoints can be favoured over others and should not fall into the decision making process. Thanks for your time. InsidiousHappenings (talk) 09:48, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Mentioning that there's been higher than normal turnover at a school really isn't relevant to an encyclopedia. It's giving undue weight to a subject that most, frankly, don't care about unless they're local. If they're local, and it's relevant to them, they likely already know. It's like mentioning that people in a city really like a certain restaurant in the area, is that really an improvement? Hey man im josh (talk) 20:57, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
Senior LPGA Championship
Yeah i wasn't sure if keeping the location map was necessary only because of the tournament potentially moving to a different site each year. Maybe just have a location map of all the sites, but we'll see. 98.186.148.50 (talk) 14:42, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
Wade Burleson
You corrected an "undo" by BestOkieHistory on the Wade Burleson Wikipedia page, then later stated it was in "error." I worked hard on sourcing the Sexual Abuse Case of the Southern Baptist Convention, having primary sources attached to the article on Wade Burleson, who led the fight. I'm not sure why BestOkieHistory deleted my work, but it is very frustrating. In looking through the history page of Wade Burleson, it seems BestOkieHistory has deleted primary source material on several occasions. Thank you for your fight against vandalism, and I would ask that you keep your eye on BestOkieHistory. SamBullion (talk) 22:21, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @SamBullion, I undid an edit because I thought they were a sockpuppet of another user. I created a sockpuppet investigation but quickly realized I was incorrect in my belief, so I restored the edit which I reverted, as the reason for my revert was no longer valid.
- For the content dispute, as it appears to be, you should ping them from the talk page of the article to discuss their changes. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort and sometimes discussions need to be had. Hey man im josh (talk) 21:00, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
Coaching trees
Josh, we've had extensive discussion about coaching trees in the past. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject College football/Coaching trees. Jweiss11 (talk) 21:41, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Jweiss11, thank you for the link, I'll add it to my references in case this ever comes up again. I've skimmed through it and there was a lot of good discussion had about this. Given my knowledge of their work and experience in the area, I typically always defer to CBL62, Eagles247, and Bagumba, all of whom opposed the mass addition of coaching trees, and all of whom made valid points that I agreed with. Thanks again for bringing this up, I'll start self-reverting. Hey man im josh (talk) 21:51, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. If you can find multiple, reliable sources explicitly discussing a given coach's tree, that's fair game for inclusion, but it should be well-sourced. I would focused the highly influential, innovating, and hall of fame type coaches first. Jweiss11 (talk) 22:01, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
Isiah Pacheco
Please tell me Isaih Pacheco to Isiah Pacheco wasn't a cut-and-paste move. Certes (talk) 23:02, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- It was, and I'm a little disappointed. Primefac (talk) 11:15, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Primefac, thank you for merging the histories. I've grown a lot over the last two months on Wiki since doing that, branching outwards and trying new things, and that was around the time I started doing so. Unfortunately part of that is I've made some mistakes, it's been a part of the growing process. I feel ashamed over that, I'm not sure why I'd be so stupid as to copy-and-paste move, but I can tell you that my intention and goal is always to not make the same mistake twice. Luckily I'm pretty confident that's the only page I've done that with due to a special circumstance. I now understand the process for copy-and-paste moves and merges as I had a discussion about it not too long ago with another admin. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:05, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- No worries. To be honest I didn't look at the date, so if it was a while ago that makes a bit more sense. Live and learn, eh? Primefac (talk) 12:16, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

- I've seen plenty of more experienced editors cut and paste. It's the obvious way to move a page, far easier both to discover and to carry out than requesting an admin to remove the destination page. In fact, I'm amazed it doesn't happen more often. Certes (talk) 19:00, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

- Hey @David notMD, thanks for bringing it up but as Primefac said, the user recreated the page after deletion. This happens sometimes, and I've nominated the page again as it appears to still violate U5. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:06, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

- Thanks lol. I never understood how people were beating me to revert constantly until I got Huggle. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to it it makes things a whole lot easier and efficient. Unfortunately you can't use the program properly if you don't have rollback. It looks like you do a good job of warning users after a revert, if you're interested in fighting vandalism I highly encourage you to apply for rollback permissions and then eventually try Huggle out. Even if you don't succeed in your application, the responding admins are usually great at helping people understand where they need to improve in order to get the permission. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:49, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- Tysm! Most editors don't seem to notice (or care) about my edits. What's funny is that I'm actually training for rollback permissions! However I need to make myself a bit more familiar with Wikipedia's rules. I'm technically editing at a risk, so I'm probably taking a WikiBreak soon and try applying for reviewer in January 2023. Thanks for letting me know, and keep up the amazing work! Dinoz1 (chat?) 13:40, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

Hey man. I was just having a chat with Daniel Case on his talk page, and I was wondering if you could clarify your report Special:Diff/1101974728. - One thing I want to note though. In looking at the edit history, it appears you submitted the article for review with no changes made since it was moved to the draft space. You should flush it out further and add more information that proves notability. If it wasn't ready for the main space before, why would it be ready now with no changes made? Hey man im josh (talk) 00:59, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
no problem
Hi, thanks for the message. it's interesting how quickly you reacted to edits to a Pelosi page. The reason i started editing is because i noticed several people who had "right-wing extremist" or "white supremacist" and other such specifically NON neutral tags that i figured it would only be fair to make sure these labels were being evenly distributed. I agree with you that wikipedia should be a neutral and informational website & i hope you will apply your standards evenly. I also think that you are missing lots of important details to Mr. Pelosi's page & hope that some of these will be included. Thanks. 71.25.108.161 (talk) 14:33, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
i left several facts on Mr. Pelosi's page that are easily verifiable. I am again interested as to why you are so quick to blanch Mr. Pelosi's page... 71.25.108.161 (talk) 14:43, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Are you implying I'm somehow affiliated with Pelosi or have an agenda to push? Your edits simply jumped to the top of vandalism queue on the Huggle program that I use.
- In my revert I mentioned you should provide reliable sources as citations and stick to a neutral tone. To elaborate a bit further;
- "Potentially corrupt" - not neutral and speculative
- "has been implicated by the FBI in 6 cases surrounding fraud and bribery." - no sources provided
- Removed the word "allegedly" from "Pelosi was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol" when it should remain until it's proven or he admits it
- "...who was in a neck brace due to swimming injury & had warned him about driving too fast on the winding road" - no sources provided
- These are just some of the issues I have with your edits. Please review the links, as I reverted your edits based on those policies as well as WP:BLPREMOVE. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:18, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

You were in the right, but please try to assume good faith moving forward. I believe that everybody who reverted you seemed to be acting in good faith and we all need to work together.
- Thank you. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:35, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- This is kind of an ongoing shit storm, at least it was until El C protected the article. No one looks good here: almost no one explained in sufficient detail why they removed or restored the information, and almost everyone just seemed to hit "revert" reflexively. It is a good opportunity to reflect on the fact that sometimes it's good to take it slow. Drmies (talk) 17:02, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hey, @Drmies, it absolutely is. I think Serols and I were under the same impression of WP:SPOILERS. Unfortunately, with so many edits in a short amount of time, I missed the one edit summary that actually mentioned the show hadn't started yet. If a trout slapping all around was ever deserved, it would be now. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:12, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- No worries. I'm not looking to break anyone's balls, but it's a valuable learning experience for some editors, I hope. Take care, Drmies (talk) 17:20, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello Hey man im josh, the spoiler is allowed, see here Wikipedia:spoiler. My opinion is, that your revert was not ok. Regards Serols (talk) 16:46, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- The show hasn't even aired yet, and we don't even know if the "spoiler" is real or not. It could easily be fake - something similar happened on the page for Season 2 of the British version. 92.11.191.227 (talk) 16:52, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hello 92.11.191.227, I am satisfied with the answer. Regards --Serols (talk) 16:55, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – August 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2022).

- An RfC has been closed with consensus to add javascript that will show edit notices for editors editing via a mobile device. This only works for users using a mobile browser, so iOS app editors will still not be able to see edit notices.
- An RfC has been closed with the consensus that train stations are not inherently notable.
- The Wikimania 2022 Hackathon will take place virtually from 11 August to 14 August.
- Administrators will now see links on user pages for "Change block" and "Unblock user" instead of just "Block user" if the user is already blocked. (T308570)
- The arbitration case request Geschichte has been automatically closed after a 3 month suspension of the case.
- You can vote for candidates in the 2022 Board of Trustees elections from 16 August to 30 August. Two community elected seats are up for election.
- Wikimania 2022 is taking place virtually from 11 August to 14 August. The schedule for wikimania is listed here. There are also a number of in-person events associated with Wikimania around the world.

Muqattaʿat
Hi Josh,
You removed my edit that was meant to provide some understanding to a section. Apparently there is some need to clarify that section, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Muqatta%CA%BFat#Modern_Research — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.93.27.208 (talk • contribs)
- Hey @176.93.27.208, the issue is that the content that you added needs a reliable source (WP:CITE, WP:RS) added along with your text. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:40, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
About Kostroma
- Hello! The fact is that Slavic paganism does not know such a deity as Kostroma. She is a rather late ritual character.
However, in the neo-pagan environment, there is a widespread tendency to pass off folklore characters as Slavic deities. The plot presented in the article is a falsification of Asov, one of the main neo-pagan figures, who composes "Slavic myths" and passes them off as ancient. In particular, he based the story about Kupala and Kostroma on a folk legend about the twins Ivan and Marya. And in general, not one whole Slavic myth of this size has come down to us, only their small fragments and echoes in epics. Perhaps my phrases sound a little incorrect, since I write through a translator. - Эйга-фридур (talk) 07:43, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022

Hello Hey man im josh,
- Backlog status
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.
- Coordination
- MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
- Open letter to the WMF
- The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
- TIP - Reviewing by subject
- Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.

- New reviewers
- The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
- If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing
{{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page. - If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
- To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Help with Vandalism on Canadian Psychological Association page
Hello HMIJ, I appreciated you correcting the mass-blanking (vandalism) by CPA consultants and affiliates a couple months ago when they removed 5 entire sections from the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) page. Those sections were unflattering for CPA but were well-documented showing deception and policies for healthcare workers that actually allowed them to harm and kill people. Under the section on Warfare and The Use of Torture, the American Psychological Association (APA) page shows that APA got in a lot of trouble for the same deception, policies and harm against human beings. (And those APA sections have not been deleted.)
Within the last 24 hours, the CPA page has again had the same five sections (1.1 - 1.5) completely deleted. I think this is the 9th time it has happened. This time it was by an editor named Wugapodes, who seems to have made hundreds of edits on Wikipedia, and has a long list of contributors he has blocked. I don't want him simply to block me, if I try to correct the historical record on the CPA page, while responding to his concerns. I am sure you know more about how this works than I do; are you able to look into whether his mass-blanking to completely erase that whole history was acceptable (or is again vandalism)? Thanks a lot! PsycProf (talk) 22:07, 6 August 2022 (UTC)

- I have not even made any changes yet, and Wugapodes has already threatened to block me, on his Talk page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Wugapodes PsycProf (talk) 12:10, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @PsycProf, you should definitely listen to what Wugapodes is saying to you. They're an extremely experienced user/administrator. Hey man im josh (talk) 10:56, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment HMIJ. It was just concerning to see Wugapodes delete the entire 5 sections, claiming that it was (in part) because of a non-neutral point of view (and threatening to block me before I even responded!). Wugapodes has not responded to my replies that it was factual well-documented historical information. His claim that discussions of The Nazi Doctors book re medical ethics is a non-neutral point of view is like saying that the Wikipedia coverage of The Holocaust is a non-neutral point of view. In any case, although Wugapodes may have been heavy-handed and sarcastic in his explanations, I appreciate all the helpful comments that others have provided about this. I will start by re-adding a short section in the CPA history, with solid published references. Thanks again! PsycProf (talk) 19:58, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
