Plot
The story is about two best friends Radhika Mishra and Samaira Khanna.
Radhika is an amiable and positive-spirited girl from Rishikesh who aspires to become a writer. Her grandfather motivates her to live her life to the fullest. Her friend, Saral Joshi is an obsessive lover of her and wishes to marry her some day.
Samaira/Sam is an independent and fun-loving girl, who works at Bird Song Advertising Agency, Mumbai. Neil Malhotra is Sam's childhood best friend. He also works at Birdsong and secretly loves Sam. She does not have good relations with her mother Piyali as the latter blames her for her son Jay's death.
Radhika befriends Sam and Neil when they goes to Rishikesh for an advertisement shoot. Radhika helps Sam by giving an instant tagline for her ad when she lands in trouble. Seeing her talent, Sam and Neil motivates Radhika to focus on her writing career and to further it.
After getting engaged to Saral, Radhika reaches Mumbai to fulfill her dreams and starts working at Birdsong.
Sam gets into a fight with her mother and leaves Birdsong. She meets a stranger, Arjun Mehra, who saves her from a dog. Arjun is later revealed to be the new head of Business operations in Birdsong, however he has a motive to ruin Sam's life.
After overhearing an argument between her parents, Sam leaves her home while Radhika's colleagues play a prank on her, due to which she arrives home late and is ousted by her relatives in Mumbai. Arjun offers Sam with a house, after which both Sam and Radhika move into their new house. Radhika succeeds in mending Sam's relationship with Piyali.
Sam gradually falls in love with Arjun and proposes to him, which upsets Neil. But Radhika becomes suspicious of Arjun and warns Sam, who later breaks up with Arjun. Heartbroken, Sam and Neil go to Lonavla for a location hunt. Arjun wanting to sort things out between them, goes to Lonavla to meet Sam but Radhika also accompanies him and stops him from doing so.
At Lonavla, while trying to save Arjun, Radhika meets with an accident. Arjun takes her to the hospital and saves her. Radhika realizes that Arjun is indeed a good person and regrets failing to understand him.
Arjun and Sam patch up. But while pretending to be in love with Sam, Arjun falls for Radhika, because of her selflessness, loyalty and kindness.
Mala (Radhika's mother) and Saral reach Mumbai. Sam and Arjun gets engaged.
Later, it is revealed that Nandini, Arjun's adoptive sister and an old employee of Birdsong, had been in an extra-marital affair with Samrat Khanna (Sam's father) but he ditched her for his family. Nandini was devastated and suicidal, while ten-year-old Arjun witnessed this heartbreak, leaving him bitter. She seeks revenge from Samrat for her misfortune.
Arjun's growing love for Radhika makes him guilt-ridden. On realising that Arjun loves Radhika, Nandini manipulates Saral into marrying Radhika sooner, without letting Arjun know. Radhika decides to quit her job when Saral blackmails her. However Arjun advises Radhika to refuse to marry Saral and to focus on her dreams instead. But when she refuses, Saral tries to marry her forcefully, but Arjun stops the wedding. Radhika develops immense respect and trust towards Arjun, which makes him feel guilty for trying to ruin Sam's life.
Nandini mislead Sam into believing that Radhika is trying to separate her and Arjun. Soon, Radhika discovers Arjun's true motives and tries to save Sam from Nandini's evil plan by marrying Arjun. This puts their friendship at stake. A heartbroken Sam is consoled by Neil.
Nandini asks Arjun to divorce Radhika and woo Sam. Arjun tries to manipulate Sam again, but he still loves Radhika, and doesn't want to divorce her. Radhika is determined to save Sam, while Sam tries to get Arjun back and ruin Radhika's life. Neil warns Sam not to.
Radhika learns that Nandini plans to kill Sam, but Arjun doesn't know about it. Radhika realises that Nandini has only been using Arjun all this while to seek revenge and satisfy her ego. After learning about Arjun's innocence, Radhika falls in love with Arjun. Radhika exposes Nandini's true colors to Arjun leaving him shattered. Arjun tells Nandini to leave.
Radhika decides to go back to Rishikesh, but Arjun asks her to stay. But since she knows that Sam loves Arjun, she leaves, sacrificing her love for Arjun.
After a few weeks, Neil and Sam realise their love for each other and marry. Neil, Sam and Arjun go to Rishikesh to bring Radhika back and Arjun apologizes for his mistake. He then finally proposes to Radhika.
