• New requests for permissions/Bot:Request for admin flag for MsynBot - From 2021 through 2024, this bot has implemented the 2019 RfC “semi-protection to prevent vandalism on most used Items” by maintaining page protections based on the outcome, d:Wikidata:Protection policy#Highly used items. The admin flag got lost due to bot inactivity but the bot operation could be resumed immediately if the admin flag is given back.

  • We began research into current limits for collapsing entity usage. (Basically when an article uses more data from an Item than the configured limit then we consider all data on that Item to be used. This is done for infrastructure reasons.) We’d like to improve this to further reduce unnecessary Wikidata changes showing up on watchlist and recent changes on Wikipedia and co.
  • We will roll out showing labels instead of IDs in Wikidata edits in watchlist and recent changes to more wikis later this week.

Neuigkeiten für Autoren

• Vorlagen-Favoriten, eine neue Funktion im Zusammenhang mit Abrufen und Entdecken von Vorlagen, wird diese Woche in allen Wikimedia-Projekten eingeführt: Mit dieser Funktion können Autoren schnell auf eine Liste wahrscheinlich nützlicher Vorlagen zugreifen. Diese Vorlagen werden in einer Liste unter dem Reiter "Empfohlen" der Oberfläche zur Vorlagenentdeckung angezeigt. Administratoren können die Liste über die Community-Konfiguration definieren. Diese Funktion entspricht einem Wunsch der Community über die Community-Wunschliste. [1][2]
• Sieh dir alle 31 von der Community eingereichten Tasks an, die letzte Woche gelöst wurden. Beispielsweise wurde die Anfrage zum Hinzufügen von Malayalam-Schriftarten im Wikisource-Buchexport-Werkzeug gelöst und jetzt ist die Darstellung von Malayalam-Buchstaben in exportierten Wikisource-Büchern korrekt. Dein geliebtes Skript tut nicht mehr, was es soll? Der Bot macht zu oft Sommerpause? Keine Lösungsmöglichkeit aus der Community in Sicht? Die Technischen Wünsche bieten wieder Reparaturhilfe an!

2023 als Reparatursommer entstanden, während andere Projekte pausieren mussten, haben wir die Reparaturhilfe 2024 als laufendes Angebot etabliert. Dieses Jahr haben wir das Konzept nochmal angepasst, um fokussierter auf eure Anfragen reagieren zu können: Anstatt gelegentlich neben unserer eigentlichen Arbeit Hilfestellungen zu geben, veranstalten wir ungefähr einmal pro Quartal Reparaturtage, wo wir uns um eure Anliegen kümmern möchten.

Bis zum 01. August könnt ihr euch auf Wikipedia:Technische Wünsche/Reparaturhilfe mit euren Problemen zu Communitywerkzeugen für unsere nächste Ausgabe der Reparaturtage melden. Technische Kenntnisse sind dafür nicht erforderlich, wir melden uns bei Fragen oder Unklarheiten. Mitte August kümmert sich unser Team dann um eure Anliegen. Mehr Infos zur Einreichung und Art der Hilfestellung auf unserer Projektseite.

Was steht sonst bei Technischen Wünschen an?

Wie neulich angekündigt, befinden wir uns auf den Zielgeraden, den Langzeitwunsch Subreferenzierung Realität werden zu lassen. Die angepeilte Bereitstellung verzögert sich leider noch ein letztes Mal, auf der WikiCon können wir dann endlich die Umsetzung feiern!

Außerdem läuft unsere Recherche zu kommenden Verbesserungen zu Einzelnachweisen, wir freuen uns über euer Feedback auf unserer Diskussionsseite. Oder komm spontan zum heutigen Technische-Wünsche-Treff (16. Juli, 18:00 Uhr), wo wir über eure Gedanken sprechen möchten, was wir als nächstes angehen sollen!
