Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello LR.127:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Luka12573 (23:26, 24 May 2025)

[edit]

Hello, when should I link to countries, if ever? --Luka12573 (talk) 23:26, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Generally, you can avoid overlinking an article by keeping certain subjects like countries as regular text. You can link to a country if, for example, the article is about a city in that country and there isn't already a link yet. You can find more information at Wikipedia's Manual of Style page on linking: MOS:Overlink. Hope this helps :-). Cheers. LR.127 (talk) 03:49, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Silademirel (18:39, 25 May 2025)

[edit]

Hello. I wrote an article today but it is visible in my user page. How can I publish it to public? --Silademirel (talk) 18:39, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I've submitted your article as a submission for more experienced editors to check. Based on reliable sources being cited, neutral tone in the article, and notability of the subject, they will decide whether it is a worthy article to be published and made public. Hope this helps :-). Cheers. LR.127 (talk) 18:46, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why you actually submitted it--it was severely flawed and that it would be declined seems obvious to me. Drmies (talk) 20:15, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If the user thinks the article should be published to public, it would not be helpful to tell them both how to submit and also why they shouldn't submit it. Getting a decline message is still feedback to improve the article, and now it's easier to resubmit the article (with a helpful blue Resubmit button) once issues are addressed. I don't think explaining the technical processes behind submitting to Articles for Creation is helpful, which is why I did the submission myself. LR.127 (talk) 20:43, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Hunsur (07:41, 27 May 2025)

[edit]

I created a new article called Vettakkorumakankavu Shasta in thesandbox . Not completed and under progress .. but its now not to be found. How do I retrieve it --Hunsur (talk) 07:41, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find it either. Did you create the article under another account, or possibly while you were not logged in? LR.127 (talk) 12:18, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mikejohnalex (07:18, 30 May 2025)

[edit]

Hello! Bottom line, I'm a need. I enjoy doing a lot of research. I can get lost in research for days. However, I am not familiar with the process of this system exactly. Could you help me figure out the best places to look for instructions or could you help with that? Thank you --Mikejohnalex (talk) 07:18, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Here's your monthly dose of barnstar-ception! Thanks for adding short descriptions to Wikipedia and helping to clear the T3K list. (Looks like you did many (if not most) of the final few as well!) GoldRomean (talk) 19:30, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
