I first registered this account - my first - April 20, 2007. Since then, I've gotten involved pretty deeply in AfD work. I see it as a chance to triage articles that are flawed, but may yet have potential. If you need access to a Wikipedia article that has been deleted, ask me. If it's not a copyright violation, libel, or personal information, and has not been deleted as a suspected biographies of living persons violation, I will userfy the article for you.

Note that using the text to recreate any deleted article may automatically qualify them for speedy deletion, and copies of previously deleted content that are being used solely for long-term archival purposes may be subject to deletion because Wikipedia is not a free web host. We have a list of alternative sites which may be used to host your content.

I maintain a sock account AVPW primarily for use on public networks. In the event of a compromised account, I specifically request any administrator to honor a request from AVPW to block this account, and absolve you in advance of any repercussions.

Current requests for increase in protection level

[edit]
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for reduction in protection level

[edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

• ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
• If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
• If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
• ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
• ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
• ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

• ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
• ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
• ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
• ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

[edit]
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

I would like to put a protection notice with detailed information due to disruptive discussions that occured before the said protection:

•

This notice would be removed the moment the XC protection expires.

Thanks. ~2026-26884-1 (talk) 09:12, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Here's the relevant text in the article:

> The Israeli government's response prompted international protests, arrests, and harassment.[835]

The relevant source:

> "2023 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: Israel, West Bank and Gaza". US Department of State. 2023. Retrieved 10 June 2024.

The source is totally misrepresented (quite possibly by accident). It has nothing to do with international reactions; it actually reviews the abysmal state of human rights in Israel. Looks like a decent source that could be used elsewhere though. Also, I think the reference to "harassment" is quite vague, and should be dropped unless some source supporting it can be found.

Thanks very much for all your hard work. ~2026-27973-7 (talk) 22:20, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Looking to have this edit placed on the Talk page for Kosovo.

The section 'History,' subsection 'Kosovo War,' second paragraph, last sentence:

'By 1996, the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), an ethnic Albanian guerrilla paramilitary group that sought the separation of Kosovo and the eventual creation of a Greater Albania,[121] had prevailed over the Rugova's non-violent resistance movement and launched attacks against the Yugoslav Army and Serbian police in Kosovo, resulting in the Kosovo War.[117][122]'

I'm struggling to understand the use of 'the Rugova's' - it seems like an error. Could this perhaps be referring to Rugova and his wife (or even brother, other family member) working in tandem towards their movement? (e.g. JFK and RFK during JFK's presidency - 'The Kennedy's')

Or, is error the precedent 'the,' and Rugova was a singular figure leading said movement?

@Captain Galaxy has created 32 articles, with only 1 of those being deleted five years ago (per WP:A7). Since then, @CG has created well sourced and well written articles, such as Cow (Mario) and Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, along with 11 other GAs. I recently reviewed CloverPit as part of the ongoing backlog drive, and found no issues. @CG has had many successful DYK nominations, as can be seen by their talk page history. I am confident that @CG's articles do not require reviewing by NPP and can be trusted with the AP right! Thank you @CG for your contributions to WP:Video games! 11WB (talk) 20:45, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi! I am a frequent RC patroller requesting PCR rights to get some new experience fighting vandalism. I often use RedWarn to easily take down vandals and getting a new way to help out the wiki would mean a lot to me :) Thanks for considering! akidfrombethany!(talk|contribs) 18:16, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

I've been an editor on Wikpedia for about two years now, and I have a good grasp on the policies. I believe that I can be an efficient patroller of recent changes, and hopefully do a good job reverting vandalism across the website if given this right. Swoonfed (Ping) 23:24, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

The thread on your talk page (and linked edit summaries) are give me some pause here. I won't decline outright in case another administrator wants to grant, but I lean a no. Giraffer (talk) 10:32, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Rollback

[edit]

Hello. I am requesting rollback rights to combat vandalism in Wikipedia. I qualify to all the criteria mentioned above. I have been in monthly top five pending changes reviewer multiple times and I think if I have rollback rights, I can prevent vandalism even better and make Wikipedia a nicer place. Also, I have read the Wikipedia articles on rollback and reviewing changes thoroughly. TrueMoriarty (talk) 12:39, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

@TrueMoriarty although it's not directly relevant to rollback, I'm concerned about your very recent brush with copright (cc Diannaa). Is there anything you can say about that that would make me more comfortable? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:22, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
@HJ Mitchell. Hello. I deeply regret what occurred about that copyright issue, but believe me, my intentions were not bad. It was purely an accident and here’s what really happened. It is slightly troublesome to change tabs repeatedly while creating an article, so I copy-pasted the whole thing in my sandbox, where I thought I would peacefully take information from the article in question to the article I was creating. While creating the article, I was fully aware of copyright, notability, style and other guidelines but at that certain moment I was under considerable mental pressure and I accidentally mistook some paragraphs of the copy-pasted article as written by me so I just gave references and published it. It was kind of a mix-up. Like my paragraphs were there and so were the paragraphs of the copy-pasted articles and I accidentally deleted mine and kept the copy-pasted ones. Once again, I apologize sincerely for my mistakes and I hope I will be forgiven and be given rollback rights. Have good day!TrueMoriarty (talk) 07:32, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi! I'm trying to use WP:KIWF and MassRoolback scripts to revert a block evasion, but both scripts didn't worked. I suppose that with this permission I will can perform some useful tasks. I'm aware of rules around it and will not abuse the tools. Thanks! Ixocactus (talk) 19:02, 11 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I regularly patrol recent changes and I would love to have more tool access for better counter-vandalism efficiency. Jiltedsquirrel 🌰 (talk || contribs) 23:31, 11 January 2026 (UTC)

Frequent RC patroller, I'd like rollback so I can fight vandals even harder than I do now! Thanks ^^ akidfrombethany!(talk|contribs) 18:12, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights Would like to try out WikiShield to see if it will improve the experience of RC patrol G Zhong 18:49, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

I have been involved with stopping vandalism whenever I see it. I make sure to warn the vandal as soon as I can. I am well versed in the policies and will not abuse the privilege. Thank you for your time. Dafootballguy (talk) 03:16, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

I’ve been patrolling recent changes for a while now and I’d like to request rollback rights to try out WikiShield and other anti-vandalism tools to keep Wikipedia vandalism-free. Awesomecat ( / ) 19:34, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

Template editor

[edit]

I should begin by saying I'm not even sure this is the right action to take. I don't see myself needing to edit high-risk templates, work in sandboxes, or answer edit requests. However, several much more "ordinary" templates are protected nowadays, and I feel sufficiently established I don't want to bother others with relatively trivial changes, such as textual changes that don't require mastery of wiki or lua code. I do feel confident I won't accidentally wreck things. If you reading this really think we still live in an ideal world where only templates that would otherwise need full protection have template protection, then you should deny this request. Otherwise, I can think of maybe one instance every other month where I just left something alone even though having this right would enable to quickly fix something small, with next to no risk. Cheers, CapnZapp (talk) 17:41, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

Can you provide some examples of successful requests and examples of changes you'd make if you had the user right? voorts (talk/contributions) 17:59, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
Looking at my browser history, here's a small selection of template-protected templates I've recently had reason to examine: Uw-spamublock, Underlinked, Archives, Connected contributor, Interlanguage link, Highlight. I can't promise I was involved in actually editing all of them without ransacking memory deeper, but since this is only from the last couple of months, I hope it is clear I could have made minor improvements had I been able to. I have been fairly involved in talk discussions for Archives and Interlanguage link, but I hesitate to bring those up because, as stated, I foresee mostly making less complex edits. Anyway, it happens frequently enough that I come across a protected template and can't even make the simplest change (without bothering my hard-working fellow editors) that I finally made this request.
