Wikipedia:Proposed good articles
|
Proposed good articles "Good articles" are articles that are better than other articles, according to many people. Good articles have criteria/requirements that the article needs to have. Read Wikipedia:Requirements for good articles for information about the criteria. This page is to talk about articles to see if they meet Good Article criteria. When an article is posted here, it should have the {{pgood}} tag put on it. This will put the article in Category:Proposed good articles. Please only put one article in at a time. Articles that are accepted by the community as good articles will have their {{pgood}} tag replaced with {{good}}. They are also shown on Wikipedia:Good articles and are put in Category:Good articles. Articles that are not accepted by the community as good articles have their {{good}} tag removed. Articles that are better than the good article criteria can be proposed to be a "very good article" at Wikipedia:Proposed very good articles. This tool can be used to find the size of an article. |
Joining the talk If you choose to join in the talk about good articles, it is very important that you know and understand the criteria for good articles. Discussing an article is a promise to the community that you have read the criteria and the article in question. You should prepare to completely explain the reasons for your comments. This process should not be taken lightly. If people think that a user is not taking the process seriously and/or is commenting without reason, they may not be allowed to join in any more. |

The Dead Dance
[change source]This has the potential to be a great article. Theparties (talk) 10:53, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Oppose, there are still some red links in the article, which would not meet Wikipedia:Requirements for good articles requirement 6. I agree that it has potential, but it should probably be improved before being nominated. Ternera (talk) 13:32, 9 March 2026 (UTC)- Oppose - Seems to have some glaring issues right now. The lede has a long paragraph then one sentence; it's unbalanced. The Background section starts with two very complex sentences. It also contains confusing language (saying Gaga "recognized it" is not the same meaning as En.'s "acknowledged it"; not clear what she "reserved" the song for the show means). That section, overall, doesn't really give a good context for the song; it's mostly about the show. The En. article makes it much clearer with the quote from her and sentences about them contacting her about making a song. "Made the song known" is not a good translation of "teased the song." A lot of other issues throughout like single sentence paragraphs in the music video section. Much work is needed to get it to the GA status. CountryANDWestern (talk) 13:49, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Black-footed cat
[change source]I would like to nominate this article for GA status. I think it meets all the criteria for a GA. PieWriter (talk) 12:12, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- There is some really complex words in here that I have little knowledge of. Can we not simplify this better? Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 19:23, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- I can try, will ping you after i am done. PieWriter (talk) 23:50, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Lee Vilenski Done, can you take a look? PieWriter (talk) 00:29, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- It just isn't very simple. For example there's a section called "Taxonomy and phylogeny", which is crazy complicated on its own. It reads:
The scientific name Felis nigripes was given in 1824 by the British explorer William John Burchell. He based the name on skins of small spotted cats he saw near Litákun (now Dithakong), South Africa. In 1931, South African mammalogist Guy C. Shortridge suggested a subspecies called Felis (Microfelis) nigripes thomasi. He used darker skins found in Griqualand West to support this idea. Later, British zoologist Reginald Innes Pocock confirmed that the black-footed cat belongs to the genus Felis.
- I don't think I need to explain that this language is far too complex. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:11, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- I simplified it PieWriter (talk) 05:54, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

Doctor Who
[change source]The article is stable and complete with a long revision history. There are a lot of references to high-quality sources. It contains clearly labelled images. There is a relatively low number of red links compared to the overall number of links in the article. It is appropriately categorised. I believe that overall it is of good quality.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Superyellyfish (talk • contribs)
Oppose complex article Oddyddn2070 02:53, 26 January 2026 (UTC)- Oppose - basically unsourced. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 19:21, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Oppose per above. --Saroj (talk) 17:37, 12 February 2026 (UTC)- Not promoted Nominator must follow required criterias for GA before re-nominate the article, basically unsourced and complex article. Any re-nomination article without improving or fixing it might quick fail or even WP:SNOW closure. Oddyddn2070 09:32, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
