Double space edits

Hi Wikipedian12512, please don't do too many double space removal edits. A lot of these are just hitting infoboxes, which tend to be expanded and contracted at various points by various tools. October 2026 Administrator Elections – Call for Candidates

The administrator elections process has officially started! Qualified editors are encouraged to find at least one experienced nominator. Self-nominations are also allowed. Please review instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Candidates.

Here is the schedule:

• September 29 – October 5: Nominations phase (we are here)
• October 8–12: Discussion phase
• October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase

Please note the following:

• The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed. However, in practice, few candidates succeed without ~10K edits, some content creation, no recent behavioral issues, and a nominator.
• Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for admin elections candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
• The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
• The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
• Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.

Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.

Greetings, I noticed that you've become pretty popular among other Wikipedians. You're partially blocked from Wikipedia, and I know that. But the thing is, you're getting messages from admin elections, and your block only affects ANI, while mine affects any Wikipedia-namespace pages. So, how do I become popular? SH360! (Must edit! I don’t understand what you mean by “popular”. I see editors, help them as best I can, and the next time I see that editor, it’s a familiar face. It’s something you can’t really do at ANI.

It doesn’t really matter what your block affects, because the real work happens in the mainspace. If you want to participate in the admin elections, maybe you can work something out. Maybe request an unblock for the duration of the elections, with ANI blocked, and tell them that during that time, you won’t do anything stupid?

I think the best course of action for you doesn’t involve anything in the Wikipedia namespace though, at least for now. Try making a GA! Get a project to work on! The WP is your oyster!

I also somewhat know what you are experiencing in terms of age; I was a TA/IP (all the same to my mind) a while ago. Remember that you just need friends, editors who can help you in a pinch, to feel happy whilst editing. The voting phase of the October 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until 19 October 2026 at 23:59 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Voting phase.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

• October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
• Scrutineering phase

In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

I’m fine. I fell down about a week ago and broke my left arm (Walter Harris type two fracture). I’m going to an appointment to see when I can get the cast off in two days, and possibly it’ll be fine then with a sling. I’m basically just typing with my right hand, though my left can hit a few rows. I can play Celeste still (figured out that about three days in, where there’s a will, there’s a way).

Celeste

I just had the idea to work towards bringing Celeste to FA status. This is actually something I've thought of before, but disregarded it because I didn't have the time (the article's over 4500 words of prose!). However, if you're interested, it would be a collaborative effort and overall a lot more doable. What do you think? In case you are interested: this doesn't have to be a time-consuming project if it's managed properly. I have some ideas for how to approach it.

Sure! I haven’t done either an FA or a collaboration before, but both are things I’d love to do! I was even planning to reach out to you for a similar thing (great minds think alike), but didn’t know what to work on.

I’d love to hear your ideas and work with you on this! I have some knowledge on long projects (around 4 months on Malta).

Alright! :) Here are my ideas:

1. Go through the list of suggestions in the failed GAN, see what still needs improvement, mostly to find major issues
2. In a userspace draft, copy the current article's sources and try to find more sources to add to it. If possible, keep only sources reliable per WP:RSP and WP:VGRS (which also has a list of source recommendations). There's a source in the {{refideas}} on the talk page as well.
3. In the userspace draft, structure the article following more or less the same structure as WP:VG's featured articles, then write each section (again, following current FAs' structure)
