Notice

The article Cairo Steps has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:BAND: no credible evidence that this group has reached any level of notability beyond some self-published press releases and a soundcloud account. A few online references mention their travels in passing, but none show true notability of "multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself." See also Basem Darwisch by the same creator.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 06:43, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A few online references mention their travels in passing, but none show true notability of "multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself." You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Basem Darwisch, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 06:44, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Cairo Steps, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tarek Wageh. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the pages Draft:Tarek, Basem Darwisch, Draft:Basem Darwisch, Cairo Steps, Draft:Cairo Steps, or others, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 04:17, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

COI

[edit]

You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:RoyalKnight66. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=RoyalKnight66|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the band or its members, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the band claims or interviewing its members or management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Yours was pure spam like unique international format and to present the audience with a tense spiritual musical experience as language that can help them transcend over their earthly matters
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:17, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removing content

[edit]

Why did you remove the {{undisclosed paid}} template from Amr Talaat and what exactly is your relationship to Tortino66? This is deeply suspicious. --Yamla (talk) 12:35, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. I see you are already disclosed as the same person. Do not remove templates like this. If you do so again, I will block you. --Yamla (talk) 12:36, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You also must respond to the multiple COI notices above and you must do so before editing further. --Yamla (talk) 12:39, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Yamla, I need a solution for that problem, I don't make any paid edits for Wikipedia, Amr Talaat is an Egyptian Minister, has the notability to have an article, also the article is neutral and based on references from official websites as any other articles.
The extra account is mine also and I use it mainly for editing on English Wikipedia and Commons. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 12:54, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We know you have a conflict of interest with regard to some of the content you've edited. For example, you claim you personally created the logo, File:LogoCPFA grand-343x56.png and I see you've edited Center of Political and Foreign Affairs. That means you do have a conflict of interest (or alternatively, you've been misleading us about the copyright of content you've been uploading, placing the entire project in jeopardy). Frankly, a lot of the content you've been contributing looks to be on the edge of violating WP:PROMO. That's why these concerns have been raised. --Yamla (talk) 13:07, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla I understood your view, I think that the logo was downloaded from the internet as I wasn't know the copyrights at that time (my first days in editing), it can be removed, but really I don't have any relation with any of the created articles.
Now, after more than 6 years I returned back to edit and I think that I become more professional, I just need a second chance I can represent my good faith in editing and media upload.
and I most welcome to review any banned media or content to be removed and to be re added in the right legal way. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 13:15, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please go through all of your uploads, here and on wikimedia commons, and request deletion of any that you falsely claimed copyright to. You should also remove such content from your flickr account, though Wikipedia can't and doesn't obligate you to clear up copyright violations on other sites. Your account is not blocked and you are free to edit. --Yamla (talk) 13:18, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla Unfortunately, I've been blocked from Wikimedia Commons as one of the administrators thought that I'm a suspected Socket puppet for User:Tortino66 and other accounts due to the editing problems in Randa Kassis article, despite announcing that I have an extra account on my English and Arabic User Pages.
I really need to to cooperate an fix but my hands are tied. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 13:28, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we expect you to resolve these problems. We cannot have you leaving serious copyright violations unaddressed. You need to work with wikimedia commons to sort this out and should remove any such copyright violations from en.wikipedia.org immediately. --Yamla (talk) 13:30, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla Ok, I'll remove any media can be violent on the English Wikipedia as a first step, but really untill this moment I can do anything for Wikimedia Commons.
also I want to notify that Amr Talaat article don't have any violent media, also it has no paid edits from my side. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 13:35, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused at your level of ability with English. Your comments here show that you really struggle to communicate in English. However, your articles reflect a completely different level of ability with English. How do you account for this? --Yamla (talk) 13:36, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Easily, My first language is Arabic, So I have much more time to review the articles English language than language in chatting, I think it doesn't matter how is my language as the importance of the final product of language in the published articles. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 13:42, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see at least some of your contributions to articles have involved directly copying and pasting content from other sources, in violation of WP:COPYRIGHT. I need you to clean this up. I'll give you one week to remove all such content from articles and to remove images that violate copyright. This must be done before you edit any articles or article talk pages. You are placing the entire project in jeopardy with this. --Yamla (talk) 14:27, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me the articles that I have to focus in that week? at least the priority. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 14:58, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Every article you created appears to suffer from this. I haven't looked at the other articles you edited. --Yamla (talk) 15:21, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla I will start as soon as possible, Many thanks for your time. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 15:33, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Yamla, I have started in editing the articles to be entitled with the copyrights rules, Kindly check National Youth Conference (Egypt) and Galala University as a beginning, and I am ready for any advices from your revision. RoyalKnight66 (talk) 22:47, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Yamla I have checked another two articles, Sherif Desoky that I think it has no copyrights violation and Mohamed M. Farid which us translated from the Arabic Version. Please review.
Thanks.
RoyalKnight66 (talk) 22:36, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will take a look later today. --Yamla (talk) 13:12, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, the first thing is if any of the content was translated from the Arabic version of Wikipedia and this was not disclosed at the time, please let me know. We'll probably want to delete the articles. You could then start again. To be clear, you are allowed to translate content from the Arabic version, but absolutely must disclose this. For example, if this specific version of Sherif Desoky came about via translating the Arabic version, we should delete the entire thing and you could then recreate it, properly noting the translation. This must not include any edits others made, unless you note their authorship for the particular part of the article they edited.

Now, on to articles themselves. Sherif Desoky appears to copy content from here. I haven't ruled out that the copying worked the other way, though. Mohamed M. Farid does not immediately appear to have copyright violations but if it was translated from the Arabic version, it probably needs to be deleted entirely. National Youth Conference (Egypt) copies a small amount of text from sis.gov.eg, but probably not enough to be concerned about. I see no significant problems with Galala University, though again, if this is the result of a translation from the Arabic language version, we need to delete it entirely. --Yamla (talk) 23:39, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Yamla, Many thanks for your effort, about the content of Sherif Desoky, I can assure that it is an original content and the website is the one who copied the content as many websites use Wikipedia content. It seems logic as National Youth Conference (Egypt) has a small amount from sis.gov.eg, as it is the official website of the State Information Service of the Egyptian Presidency as a primary official reference.
