Request for 'align=' option.
[edit]Hi again, Mathglot;
As discussed at your talk page, I want to thank you again for taking the time and effort to develop the present template. Thank you also for inviting suggestions; a nice-to-have would be to add an "align=left/right" option; perhaps other users might find such an option useful too.
Thanks once again,
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(become old-fashioned!) 11:19, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, Pdebee. Please have a look at new parameter
|align=as described in section § Parameters, as well as new examples 5 and 6. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 21:47, 2 November 2025 (UTC)- Hi, Mathglot;

Wonderful! I just applied it to my user page to replace my earlier work-around and it fits perfectly. Thank you so much, once again, for taking the time and trouble to develop this option, and I hope you feel, like me, that it makes the template more flexible and complete.
I very much admire your competence in this technical area, and am sure the project is lucky to have you on board.
With kind regards;

- Hi, Mathglot;
Category tree
[edit]An interesting expansion might be to add optional param |tree=yes and wrap {{category tree all}}, as {{category tree all|Wikipedians looking for help|hideroot=on|mode=all|header=|showcount=on}}. Probably just those canned params, so we don't get too cluttered. Otoh, the category is empty most of the time, so might be kind of a waste. Mathglot (talk) 01:29, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again, Mathglot;
Since I was already visiting the present talk page to reply in the above section, I saw this latest idea of yours; it is intriguing, and I confess to not quite understanding it initially. I therefore followed the link to the examples and can see it will add a collapsible box with a category tree, presumably listing all the talk pages where editors have added the {{Help me}} template? Otherwise, thank you for clarifying the benefit(s) of this additional option, whenever convenient.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(become old-fashioned!) 02:32, 3 November 2025 (UTC)- I believe you have it right. But today is the first time I have seen that template, so have no prior familiarity with it and would want to see it in action before including it. Even so, it may not be worth it, so we'll have to monitor the situation. Mathglot (talk) 02:47, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your prompt reply, Mathglot. The current version of your template takes us straight to the category page, where it is easy to scroll down to the list of those talk pages with the {{Help me}} template, and there is currently one under the letter Q. I imagine that your proposed {{category tree all}} function would simply bypass this step, and immediately display the collapsible box alongside the template at the helper's user page instead. If so, it's a neat nice-to-have, though it only saves the helper the "effort" of one click and a bit of scrolling down to the list of talk pages with {{Help me}} templates. As you are suggesting, there would have to be many such pages for this "effort" to be worth saving. On the other hand, the provision of such a collapsible box is an elegant and user-friendly feature. Perhaps worth the development effort if you really want to do it just for the sheer pleasure of it, or on a day when you are bored and looking for something interesting to do?

A nice idea, though, and best wishes as you ponder what to do about it.
With kind regards;
