Edit request
[edit]This edit request to Template:Ambox, Template:Cmbox, Template:Fmbox, Template:Imbox, Template:Mbox, Template:Tmbox and Template:Ombox has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
For each of these templates, please add to the module call: <noinclude>|text={{Lorem ipsum}}</noinclude> so that each call looks like:
{{#invoke:Message box|Xmbox<noinclude>|text={{Lorem ipsum}}</noinclude>}}
So for ambox this would be:
{{#invoke:Message box|ambox<noinclude>|text={{Lorem ipsum}}</noinclude>}}
The rationale is so that users have a sense as to what the template is intended to do, display messages. Done correctly this should just affect the display of the template on the relevant template and should not affect the display of the template on other pages. I tested in my personal sandbox here for one of them and noticed no problems at all. If that could be confusing, what you can do instead is wrap the entire template call in <includeonly>...</includeonly> instead so the template is only visible when called from other pages. Not done I don't see a convincing reason to make either change here - the default behavior for a template, without a very good reason otherwise, is to display the output with no parameters at the top, whatever that is. Yes, that sometimes looks ugly, but it is the way it works. I don't see how adding lorem ipsum text and breaking that nice synergy is an improvement. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:31, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

Disagree. --Achim55 (talk) 12:29, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
Not done this is not actionable. You would first need to sandbox and test your requested changes. — xaosflux Talk 14:53, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
