Why doesn't this template lay at template:infobox open cluster? --Harald Khan Ճ 11:37, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know; I would think this could also cover globular clusters. But it is also somewhat redundant with template:Cluster.—RJH (talk) 19:07, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox clusterTemplate:Infobox open cluster – this template is only for use with open star clusters, and not globular clusters, or galaxy clusters, or all star clusters, so should be named for the scope of the template. --Relisted. absmag_v

[edit]

There are currently 12 page in Category:Pages using infobox open cluster with unknown parameters that use |absmag_v=. That parameter is not defined... Before I simply remove them, SHOULD that parameter be defined? Should it be added to this Infobox? I know nothing about astronomy so would like an expert to chime in... --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:49, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't exactly a common property of star clusters, but if they have an apparent magnitude then they can have an absolute magnitude too. Lithopsian (talk) 20:25, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
