Rationale

[edit]

There are a number of articles that this applies to, and no existing template seems to fit. It's more than just copy-editing, but less than a complete rewrite. When you create it, please replace the top of Computer power supply. I have left the Category tag as "Wikipedia articles needing rewrite" rather than create a new one; you might wish to alter that.

I also didn't look too hard for an appropriate icon. Is there a good library page to browse?

How about this messy filing cabinet? Or this "box of stuff" Here's a nice one for "work in progress" . Here's one that's too messy in miniature, but sure tells the story:

I think this does need its own category, presumably "Wikipedia articles needing reorganization". I used it on an article and was surprised when i followed the resulting Category:Wikipedia articles needing rewrite link and saw it "contains articles tagged as needing a complete rewrite". People seem to be using this template so I think I'll try and create Category:Wikipedia articles needing reorganization. Haven't done that before so please be understanding if I make a mess of it... Please implement {{{more|}}}

[edit]

Please copy Template:Cleanup reorganize/sandbox over Template:Cleanup reorganize. I made sure to check Special:ComparePages, and the sandbox doesn't discard any of the latest edits. The sandbox now has a {{{more|}}} parameter so I can explain in Serj Tankian what's wrong with the organization. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 04:26, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 13 June 2025

[edit]

Hello, and thanks for reading. I'm requesting that the word 'reorganization' in this template be modified so that it dynamically changes its spelling based on the user's regional preference. Basically, please replace the 'z' in that word with '{{sz}}' - it's a template that does the above. Thank you. WikiEdita65 (talk) 05:52, 13 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit template-protected}} template. There is a concern that the {{sz}} template's output is based on the English variety preference as shown in an article's code. And there are many articles that don't specify a preference that will show the default "s" engvar version when in fact the article is written in a different English variety.
