This is the WikiProject banner template used by WikiProject Insects to keep track of articles within its scope. All articles are categorised into Category:WikiProject Insects articles.

Parameters

importance – see #Importance assessment below.
category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Notes and alerts

attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention. This parameter populates Category:Insects articles needing attention.
needs-image – to request that an image or photograph be added to the page.
imagedetails – additional text to insert before the words "be added to this article" to describe the subject or type of image that is requested.
in – specify the location of the requested image. Will be categorised into Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in LOCATION, where LOCATION is the value of the |in= parameter.
needs-audio – set |needs-audio=yes or any non-blank value other than "no", "n" or "0". The following message will be displayed: "It is requested that an audio file(s) be included in this article to improve its quality." This will populate Category:Wikipedia requested audio of animals.

Task forces

Hymenoptera – set |Hymenoptera=yes if the article is supported by Hymenoptera task force. This parameter populates Category:Hymenoptera articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Hymenoptera articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
Hymenoptera-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to Hymenoptera task force. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Hymenoptera articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
ants – set |ants=yes if the article is supported by Ant task force. This parameter populates Category:Ant task force articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ant task force articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
ants-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to Ant task force. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Ant task force articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.

Deprecated parameters

listas – this parameter should be used with the banner shell template, not on individual project banners. Please see Template:WikiProject banner shell for details.
class – this parameter should be used with the banner shell template, not on individual project banners. See #Quality assessment below.
