Field names with asterisks (*) are required fields. Note that the examples below are presented in wikicode and do not necessarily reflect actual statistics.

Description

name *
The official name in English, omitting Fraternity, Inc. or Sorority, Inc. This, in general, should match the name of the article.
letters *
The letters of the fraternity or sorority, if applicable. Use Greek letters when possible. (Example, ΑΒΓ)
coat of arms
The image of the organization's coat of arms. Use only the file name, without any other code. Image width defaults to 220px if unspecified (Module:InfoboxImage/doc#Parameters displayed in image syntax) but may be specified in px with the field "image_size=" and alt text may be specified with the "alt=" field (see: WP:Alt). crest can be used in place of a coat of arms.
founded *
The date the organization was founded. Note for active groups, use {{start date and age|yyyy|mm|dd}}
birthplace
Chartering institution or location (city, state/province, and country), but not both (use [[ and ]] around the school or the combined city and state/province; do not link the country).
type *
For groups represented in the most recent version of Baird's Manual of American College Fraternities (1993 as of this writing), the Type represents the section of the Manual where the group is listed, with the following clarifications.
  1. Groups in the Social sections should be identified as Social fraternity, Social sorority, or Social women's fraternity.
  2. Other allowable options include: Benefit society, Estonian Academic Corporation, Final club, Honor (for honor societies), Fraternal order (general, non-collegiate organizations), Literary (for college literary societies), Professional (for professional fraternities and sororities), Service (for service fraternities and sororities), Secret (for secret society; groups that do not disclose active members), Senior society (groups with open memberships), Studentenverbindung (German fraternities), and Umbrella (umbrella organizations).
affiliation
This field may contain any of ACHS, CIPFI, FFC, NALFO, NAPA, NMGC, NPHC, NPC, NIC, PFA, or UCCFS, which will be linked, or other text which will not be.
former_affiliation
This field may contain any of ACHS, AES, CIPFI, FFC, NALFO, NAPA, NMGC, NPHC, NPC, NIC, PIC, PFA, PPA, or UCCFS, which will be linked, or other text which will not be.
emphasis
The specific field of study for Professional Fraternity Honor Societies, if it exists, by which the group limits its members. For other types of groups, this field shall be optional and open in meaning. (use [[ and ]] around the field(s) of emphasis)
scope
The geographic scope of the organization: Local, Regional, National, North America, or International.
status
Status - Active, Defunct, or Merged.
motto
The motto of the organization. Use [undefined] Error: {{Lang}}: no text (help) for foreign language (without quotation marks) and with quotation marks (no italics) for English. Separate the two with a hard return.
pillars
The pillars or principles of the organization, without quotation marks.
slogan
The slogan or maxim of the organization.
colors
The official color(s) of the organization using a color box (such as {{color box|#FF0000}} ) and Wikilinks for the name of each color, where known.
symbol
The official symbol(s) of the organization using [[ and ]] around each symbol.
zirkel
An image of the official zirkel (monograph) of the organization.
flag
An image of the official flag of the organization.
flower
,The official flower(s) of the organization, with [[ and ]] around each flower.
jewel
The official jewel(s) of the organization.
patron greek deity
The patron Greek god or goddess of the organization, with [[ and ]] around the name.
patron roman deity
The patron Roman god or goddess of the organization, with [[ and ]] around the name.
patron saint
The patron saint of the organization, with [[ and ]] around the name.
publication
The official publication of the organization, in italics (with and around the name). Only include current publication for active organizations.
philanthropy
The national philanthropy(s) of the organization, using [[ and ]] around items with Wikipedia articles.
chapters
The number of active chapters.
colonies
The number of active colonies.
members
The total number of active members.
lifetime
The number of lifetime members.
nickname
Fraternity nickname(s).
free_label
The free label header goes here.
free
The information for the free label.
address
The street address of the national headquarters of the organization, not abbreviated.
city
The city where the national headquarters are located.
state
The state in which the national headquarters are located, not abbreviated.
ZIP code
The ZIP code of the national headquarters (also postal code).
country
The country in which the national headquarters are located, not abbreviated.
website
The URL of the official website in the format of {{URL|example.com|optional display text}}.
footnotes
Citations; only include if the prose of the article does not contain citations that document the above content of the infobox.
