This template is intended to allow simple standardized links to Handle System identifiers (HDLs).
If you do wish to use this template, the basic usage is:
{{hdl|1808/3638|hdl-access=free}}
which produces:
The template supports all symbols found in HDLs.
If no ID is supplied, the template will fetch the ID from the page's item at Wikidata. If neither set locally or retrieved from Wikidata the template will categorize the page within Category:Hdl template with no id set.
The template supports the |hdl-access=free parameter, as documented at Help:Citation Style 1 § Registration or subscription required.
