I doubt there are quality sources that call this a "fusion genre". The term "fusion" has a definite, different use in music, which doesn't include "garage punk" or "pop rock" (which I suspect Wikipedia calls "fusion genres" just because they are made up of two words, (pop & rock, garage & punk, which individually are as much fusion genres (rock is, pop is, punk is, garage is) as the compound terms).)
