- diffhist World War I 09:25 −150 Robinvp11 talk contribs (I don't think this is correct; industrialisation and economic power provided the means but one of the weirdest ting about why war began in 1914 is precisely because there seemed little reason to do so. Countries may have competed for markets (as they still do today) but this doesn't necessarily lead to conflict. Plus, the Imperialism boom largely fizzled out in the 1890s, with the possible exception of the US (which of course we all know isn't a colonial power :))) Tag: Reverted
