Diego Montoya (42–43 years old) is an American artist and fashion designer.[1]
Diego Montoya was born in Peru, a country on the western coast of South America, his family immigrated to Miami, Florida when he was ten; he loved the city’s aesthetics which he says are “campy, blingy, sparkly, and excessive.”[1] When he was fifteen he started going to the city’s drag shows.[1] In college he studied fashion design and found himself sketching drag queens and club kids.[1] Instructed to find his muse, the ideal woman he is designing for, he chose New York City’s Club Kid, and actress Amanda Lepore.[1]
