Connie Peterson Uthoff is an American cybersecurity academic, policy strategist, and author. She serves as Program Director of the Master’s in Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management and as an Assistant Professor at the George Washington University (GWU) College of Professional Studies.[1] Uthoff's work focuses on national cybersecurity strategy, cyber intelligence, risk management, and public–private sector collaboration. She has contributed to academic publications, advised on cyber policy development, and spoken publicly on infrastructure resilience, emerging technologies, and disinformation threats.[2][3]

Education

Uthoff earned a B.A. in history from St. Olaf College and an M.A. in intelligence studies from American Military University. She completed executive education programs at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.[1] She is a doctoral candidate at GWU in human and organizational learning, with a focus on executive leadership.[1]

Career

Uthoff serves as program director and assistant professor for George Washington University’s Master of Professional Studies in Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management.[4] In this role, she oversees curriculum development and teaches graduate-level courses on cyber intelligence, risk management, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity policy.[1]

Earlier in her career, Uthoff worked on government and industry projects related to interagency coordination, infrastructure protection, and information sharing.[5][6]

She also serves as faculty advisor to cybersecurity students and engages with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives aimed at expanding access to national security careers.[1]
