It known for its record-setting concurrent player count, which reached a peak of 5 million players in May 17.[1][2][3][4] In May 24, the game achieved a concurrent player count of at least 8 million players, according to RoMonitor.[5] The game is jointly owned by its original developer and the game studio Splitting Point.[1][disputed – discuss]
Gameplay
Grow a Garden is a minimalist farm life sim.[1] The player begins with an empty plot of farmland and some currency to purchase seeds. By planting and harvesting crops, they can earn money to buy progressively more exotic plants, where it is visible to other players on the same server.[4]
Popularity
The game's May 18 "Blood Moon" update drove the game to break the previous concurrent player count record achieved by any Roblox game, formerly held by Blox Fruits.[4] The game was noted for surpassing the concurrent player counts of top-played games on Steam, such as PUBG: Battlegrounds and Counter Strike 2 on several occasions.[6][1] As of May 24, the game has received 2.3 billion visits, with over 1 million favorites.[2]

Nicole Carpenter, writing for Game File, called the game the "new generation’s FarmVille", while noting its simplicity.[6]
