Rupanty made her small screen debut in 2012[1] with significant roles in Bangladeshi television shows, television dramas, and stage performances.[2] She made her film debut in the critically acclaimed Chorki film Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya[3] in February 2024, co-starring alongside Pritom Hasan and Tasnia Farin.

Rupanty made her big-screen debut in February 2025 with Hindi-Vindi[4] co-starring Neena Gupta, Guy Sebastian, and Mihir Ahuja. Rupanty is set to appear in Bangladeshi feature film Bonolota Sen[1] scheduled for theatrical release, directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal.

Early life and career

Rupanty Akid was born in Manly, New South Wales. She is the eldest of three siblings, with a younger sister and a younger brother.[5] Her passion for Bengali culture, art, and entertainment led her to venture into theatre then onto the small screen,[6] where she then featured in over 15 productions in Bangladesh during her school holidays.[3] Rupanty gained prominence after playing the title role of Jennifer in Hello Bangladesh (2015),[7] after debuting in TV series Probashe Porobashi, directed by Azizul Hakim, in 2012.[8] Rupanty then went on to complete her schooling in Sydney and graduated from Western Sydney University.[9]

In February 2024, Rupanty made her film debut in Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya[3], a Chorki Original film, where she co-starred alongside Pritom Hasan and Tasnia Farin.

In February 2025, Rupanty made her big-screen debut in the film Hindi-Vindi directed by Ali Sayed, which marked her first appearance in a major Australian production. Hindi-Vindi was released Australia-wide in every state, supported by Screen Australia[10]. The film, which was well-received by audiences[11], saw Rupanty share the screen with renowned actors such as Neena Gupta, Guy Sebastian, and Mihir Ahuja.
