Emánuel Gödöllei (born 11 July 2000), known professionally as Manuel, is a Hungarian rapper and singer, based in Budapest. Known for his unique songwriting skills and his widely circulated stage performance, he has been nominated and won the Fonogram Award multiple times. Gödöllei is relatively considered as one of the greatest new generation musicians of Hungary.[1]
Personal life
[edit]Emánuel Gödöllei was born on July 11th, 2000 in Budapest into a heavily religious Christian family.
Gödöllei's childhood was altered by domestic violence as a child.[2] Gödöllei's father, despite showing no signs of aggression previously, began to beat him when he was 7 years old. This was due to a sudden change occurring in him, which was not related to alcohol or any known illness.[2]
It was at the age of 14 when Gödöllei decided to contact the police regarding the situation that's been going on for 7 years by that time. His father denies the allegations to this day.
Gödöllei has stated that in the recent years, his family has became significant to him, although he swore to himself that he will never put himself in the same financial situation as the one he was in growing up.[2]
