Fancy That is the second mixtape by English singer-songwriter and record producer PinkPantheress. It was released on 9 May 2025 through Warner Records. It marks her second mixtape release, following her debut mixtape To Hell with It (2021).[1]

Background

The "Britain-coded" artwork depicts the singer wearing the Imperial State Crown surrounded by a circle of flowers that is said to represent "everything kitsch and U.K.-centric".[2] The mixtape was written and produced by the singer-songwriter herself, alongside other musicians, including Aksel Arvid,[3] Count Baldor, Phil, Oscar Scheller, and the Dare and features samples and interpolations by Panic! at the Disco,[4] Jessica Simpson and Basement Jaxx.[5] For the project, she pulled from "more classic dance music," citing artists such as Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada and Fatboy Slim as her main inspiration. Her goal was to "make music where it sounds like a statement is being made with the songs" and wanted to "take on board" what appealed to her.[6]

Promotion and singles

PinkPantheress first teased the release date of the mixtape in a cryptic Instagram post in March 2025.[7] The lead single[8][9] "Tonight"[10] was released on 4 April, a "clubby tune" that samples "Do You Know What I'm Seeing?" by Panic! at the Disco from their 2008 album Pretty. Odd.[9][11] On April 6, she shared the tracklist of the mixtape, which includes nine tracks. It also features the track "Romeo" which the singer had been teasing on her TikTok in April 2024.[12] To PinkPantheress, the project felt like the "most tied together project" of her career. She hoped that fans and listeners "can hear the signs of growth" in her as an artist.[13] On 18 April, the singer announced the release of the second single "Stateside",[10] released on 25 April, sharing a snippet of the song as well.[14]
