Carsten Hobohm

Carsten Hobohm (* 1957) war bis zu seiner Pensionierung im Jahr 2021 ordentlicher Professor an der Universität Flensburg (EUF), der er immer noch angehört.

Wissenschaft

Carsten Hobohm studierte und arbeitete er an den Universitäten Bayreuth und Freiburg (1978–1985, Diplom im Fach Biologie), Hannover (Promotion über Pflanzengesellschaften und Vegetationsökologie der Wattenmeerinsel Norderney, Nebenfächer Bodenphysik und Philosophie, 1987–1992), Lüneburg (Postdoc, 1992–2004, Habilitation 1997 im Bereich Geobotanik und Naturschutz) und Siegen (2005–2006, Gastprofessor für Landschafts- und Vegetationsökologie). Während seines Zivildienstes und im Anschluss daran (1985–2005) arbeitete er für die Schutzstation Wattenmeer auf den Wattenmeerinseln Sylt und Föhr sowie an verschiedenen Umweltprojekten im Rahmen von UVP-Gutachten und FFH-Kartierungen.

Carsten Hobohms Forschungsinteressen liegen in den Bereichen Landschaftsökologie, Naturschutzmanagement, Umweltbildung und Umweltethik. Das Verhältnis von Natur und Kultur kann als Kern seiner Forschung betrachtet werden. Aktuell wirkt er in mehreren makroökologischen Forschungsverbünden zum Thema Biodiversität und Landnutzung mit.
