Addison Rae Easterling (born October 6, 2000) is an American social media personality, singer, and actress. Rae rose to fame on TikTok in 2019 and amassed over 88 million followers, making her the fifth most-followed individual on the platform. She transitioned into different ventures including music and acting. She made her film debut in the Netflix comedy film He's All That (2021) and starred in the horror film Thanksgiving (2023).
In 2021, Rae released her critically panned debut single, "Obsessed", which was later included on her debut EP, AR (2023). In 2024, she signed with Columbia Records and collaborated with Charli XCX on the remix of her song "Von Dutch". She gained further recognition that year after the release of her first major label single "Diet Pepsi", which received widespread acclaim and peaked at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her debut studio album, Addison (2025), debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200.
Early life
Addison Rae Easterling[2][a] was born on October 6, 2000,[3][4] and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, to parents Monty Lopez and Sheri Easterling.[3] Rae has two younger brothers, Enzo Lopez and Lucas Lopez,[5] and an older half-sister, Macye Neumeyer, who has two daughters of her own. Rae's parents initially divorced when she was younger and were on and off often throughout her childhood, before remarrying in 2017.[6] Both parents also have their own presence on TikTok; Monty has 5 million followers and Sheri has 14 million followers.[7]
Rae started dancing competitively at the age of six where she attended competitions across the country.[3] Before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career, the social media star briefly attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where she studied broadcast journalism in the fall to become a sports broadcaster but then dropped out when she began to gain popularity on TikTok.[8] In an interview with Elle magazine, Rae talked about her choice to move to Los Angeles, saying: "a few people in LA reached out to me, and I was like 'I need to go. I need to go.' So my parents supported me fully."[9]
Career
2019–2021: TikTok fame and "Obsessed"

Rae first gained attention after joining the social media app TikTok in July 2019, uploading dance videos to trending songs on the platform.[10] In November 2019, she joined the collaborative TikTok content house The Hype House before leaving in 2020.[11] As of June 2025, she has amassed 88.5 million followers on the app.[citation needed] Within a few months, Rae gained over one million followers on the app, leaving LSU in November.[12] She later signed with talent agency WME in January 2020.[13] In July 2020, Addison released a weekly Spotify-exclusive podcast alongside her mother, Mama Knows Best, covering their personal and career lives.[7] Rae later relaunched this podcast under the name That Was Fun?.[14] In March 2021, Rae released her debut single, "Obsessed".[15] The single was critically panned,[16] and was intended to be the lead single for her then-upcoming debut EP but was temporarily shelved.[17] That same year, Rae launched her own cosmetics line, Item Beauty.[12][18] Rae also founded her own fragrance line.[19] In August, Rae made her film debut in the Netflix comedy film He's All That (2021), a remake film of the 1999 teen comedy She's All That.[20] The film was the most streamed film on its release week,[21] but debuted to generally negative reviews from critics.[22][23][18]
2022–present: Breakthrough with "Diet Pepsi"
In February 2022, it was announced that Rae had joined the cast of a film titled Fashionista, produced by Paramount.[24] That same month, multiple songs from her unreleased EP leaked on YouTube, which Rae initially thought "could mark the death knell for her music career".[17] However, the tracks gained traction online, which spurred her to release her debut extended play AR on August 18, 2023.[25] The EP received generally positive reviews,[26][17] and debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.[27] In November, Rae starred as Gaby in the slasher film Thanksgiving (2023).[28]
In March 2024, Rae featured on Charli XCX's remix of "Von Dutch" which went on to appear on Charli XCX's remix album Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat (2024).[29][30] Rae also appeared on A. G. Cook's album Britpop (2024) on a song titled "Lucifer" with Charli XCX.[25] In August 2024, Addison Rae released her first major label single, "Diet Pepsi", through Columbia Records.[31] The song received positive reviews and fared critically and commercially well.[32] The song went on to peak at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100 marking Rae's first entry.[33] Rae performed the song live at Madison Square Garden with Troye Sivan and Charli XCX on the Sweat tour.[34] In October 2024, Rae released the single "Aquamarine".[35] A remix of the song with Arca was released a month later.[36]
In January 2025, during an interview with Rolling Stone, Rae confirmed that she would be releasing her debut studio album in 2025,[37] with Pitchfork, writer Meaghan Garvey calling it one of the most anticipated pop releases of the year.[38] Following the single's release, she was featured on the cover of Vogue France.[39] In February, Rae released the single "High Fashion" and its accompanying music video.[40] In April 2025, Rae performed "Aquamarine / Arcamarine" at Coachella with Arca and also announced the release date for her upcoming debut studio album for June.[41] Rae's debut album, Addison, was eventually released on June 6, 2025, and was preceded by the release of the additional singles "Headphones On" and "Fame Is a Gun".[42] On June 17, Rae announced she would embark on her first headlining tour, The Addison Tour, with dates in Europe, North America and Australia, from August through November 2025.[43]
Upcoming projects
Rae is set to star in Animal Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds and Aubrey Plaza, which is set to be released on May 1, 2026.[44][45][46]
Artistry
Music critics have categorized Rae's music as dance-pop, bubblegum pop, and synth-pop. Rae is influenced by many artists including Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Sophie, Arca, and Charli XCX.[17][47] In a conversation with Interview magazine, Rae muses on her influences, "I love a woman who does it all… I love a girl that does it all with no filter, it's just ingrained in me."[47]
Vogue notes that Rae has received attention from music fans online for her unexpectedly eclectic taste; artists like "FKA Twigs, Yves Tumor, and Kelela" appear on her playlists which stylistically "span recent avant-garde hip-hop to the cream of '00s Timbaland-produced R&B."[17] In a trailer video for her debut self-titled album, Rae acknowledged that she is "not the same person you used to know,"[48] alluding to her rebrand from a social media personality to a serious, critically praised musician.
Public image
Since her debut on TikTok, Rae has partnered with various companies such as Reebok, L'Oréal, Hollister, and American Eagle.[49][50] Forbes published a report in August 2020 revealing that Rae earned $5 million in the last year through June from her various endorsement deals and merchandise, making her the highest-earning TikTok star at the time.[51] Rae has been credited with reviving the popularity of the navel piercing in the 2020s alongside Ice Spice and Billie Eilish.[52][53][54] She was also included as a limited-time playable character in the mobile video game War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius in November 2022.[55]
In March 2020, Australian rapper the Kid Laroi released the song "Addison Rae", which was named after and dedicated to Rae and became popular on TikTok.[56] Later that year, Rae was mentioned by rapper Lil Yachty on his song "E-ER", which sparked a feud between him and Rae's then–boyfriend, Bryce Hall.[57]
In July 2020, a video that Rae had reposted in 2016 resurfaced, in which a woman calls the Black Lives Matter movement a "cult" and states that "all lives matter". The repost received criticism from social media users and prompted Rae to post an apology to her Twitter account, wherein she wrote that she was "committed to learning from" her mistakes and that she "will forever believe that Black Lives Matter".[58][59] A video posted by YouTubers the Nelk Boys of Rae excitedly introducing herself to then–former President Donald Trump at UFC 264 went viral online in July 2021, with fans criticizing Rae for the interaction.[60][61] In a Los Angeles Times interview the following month, she denied being a Trump supporter and said, "Introducing myself does not mean I stand behind anything that any respective person condones."[62]
Rae faced backlash for a post she made in August 2022 wearing the "Holy Trinity" bikini, a collaboration between Adidas and the brand Praying, which sported the words "Father" and "Son" on its bra and "Holy Spirit" on its bottom. It was considered offensive by some Christians and she later took the post down.[63][64]
Rae endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.[65] In a 2025 interview with Vogue France, Rae said that Trump had "created the problem" of TikTok's ban in the United States and, in reference to his second presidency, that it was "unbelievable to see how quickly one can abuse a newly acquired power."[66] She voiced her support of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests in June 2025, writing in an Instagram post, "This country could not exist without immigrants."[67]
Personal life
In October 2020, Rae confirmed she was in a relationship with TikToker Bryce Hall through various social media posts; however, they broke up the following year.[68][69] In January 2021, Rae donated her $1 million in prize money from winning an all-star Mario Tennis Aces tournament called the Stay At Home Slam to the charity No Kid Hungry.[70] In June 2021, it was reported that Rae was in a relationship with Omer Fedi, an Israeli producer and musician based in Los Angeles.[71]
