The University of Jos is a public university in the city of Jos in Plateau State, central Nigeria. The university was established in 1975 integrating a pre-existing regional campus of the University of Ibadan and an extra mural education centre. The pioneer Vice-Chancellor (1975 - 1978) was Professor Cyprian Onuaguluchi, a distinguished medical scientist. The school offers courses in law, medicine, pharmacy, social sciences, the built environment as well as arts and humanities.
