Rettendon
Vorlage:Infobox UK place Rettendon is a small village in the Borough of Chelmsford in Essex, England about Vorlage:Convert south east of the county town Chelmsford. Situated near the River Crouch the village was once owned by the Bishop of Ely. The A130 formerly passed through the village. There are a number of listed buildings in the Parish.[1]
Education
Rettendon Primary School is located on the Main Road running through the village.
Triple Rettendon Murders
On December 6th, 1995, Rettendon was the scene of the triple murder of Patrick Tate, Tony Tucker, and Craig Rolfe, three drug dealers shot to death in a Range Rover down a small farm track. The three men were found the following morning by farmer Peter Theobald and his friend Ken Jiggins. Friend, and only surviving member of the main alliance, Carlton Leach now lives in Essex and has written and talked about the murder and his memory of his late associates. The films Essex Boys, starring Sean Bean, Rise of the Footsoldier and Bonded by Blood are all based on the crime.
