The 8th Govenor-General of Korea. He was later put on trial the International Military Tribunal for the Far East where he was defended by William McCormack and Toshio Okamoto where he was found guilty of being a leader in the planning of a war of aggression and waging an unprovoked war with china. However he was found innocent of waging a war of aggression with the United States, the British Commonwealth or the Neterlands, and also found innocent of two charges related to prisoner abuse. He was sentenced to life in prison but was paroled in 1954.
