"Make You Feel My Love", also known as "To Make You Feel My Love", is a song by Bob Dylan. It appeared on his album Time Out of Mind. It has been covered by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Joan Osborne, Luka Bloom, Josh Kelley, Timothy B. Schmit, Kelly Clarkson, Mick McAuley and Winifred Horan (from Solas), Emily Loizeau, Bryan Ferry, Mary Black and Adele.
Billy Joel version
In 1997, Billy Joel covered the song for his compilation album Greatest Hits Volume III. It was released as the first single from the album and reached #50 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
Garth Brooks version
Garth Brooks covered the song in 1997. It appeared on the soundtrack of the 1998 film Hope Floats, along with a cover version by Trisha Yearwood as the first and last tracks.
Mary Black version
The Irish vocalist Mary Black released her version of "To Make You Feel My Love" as track 11 of her album "Full Tide[1] in 2005.
Adele version
In 2008, "Make You Feel My Love" was covered by Brit award winning singer Adele. It was released onto Adele's number-one debut album 19, and it will be released as the fifth single from the album. Recorded 11 years after the original version, the single was released on November 3, 2008 both on CD and Vinyl. It was originally scheduled for release 27 October but according to Adele the distributors misunderstood the date.
Music video
The video for Adele's version was released onto music channels and on her website[2] in late September 2008. It has Adele in an apartment in a city, the room is in darkness as she looks out at the city, she picks up her phone and starts singing whilst texting, for a while she continues sitting in darkness looking out at the city and checking her phone regularly, she then goes and walks closer to the window, it then ends as she sits down and checks her phone. Adele's vocal in the music video for "Make You Feel My Love" is performed entirely live.
