Nissan Presage
Nissan Presage first generation – 1998 – 2003
Nissan Presage is a minivan of premium class with three-row of seats. This Japanese car was launched by the Nissan company in 1998 as a competitor to the Honda Odyssey. There were 7 and 8 seats packages. Biggest share of components was took from Nissan R’nessa.
Saloon of Nissan Presage is convertible. But the 3rd row of seats can not be totally removed, this of course creates some disadvantages.
First generation of Nissan Presage power trains were V6 3000 cc, 2.4 l 4-cylinders vehicle and also turbo-diesel 2500 cc engine. In 2001 after long consideration, Nissan decided to decline further use of the diesel engine, and after restyling in 2001 this power train was replaced by a 4-cylinder gasoline engine QR 2500 cc.
After the redesign in 2001, Nissan Presage got new modification – Highway Star. Also Nissan Presage which can be called younger brother of Nissan Bassara – high class minivan, in 2001 it also got a new model called Highway Star.
Nissan Presage second generation 2003 – till now
The second generation debuted in 2003. It was still a minivan but with two brand new siding doors on both sides of the body. Only one interior package was available – 8 seats. New Presage built on FF L-class platform. This base is used for Nissan Teana. Engines were also taken from this sedan. Second generation of Nissan Presage has two types of engines: 4-cylinders 2.5 l; V6 3.5 l. These engines were aggregated by 4AT and sequential CVT.
The main advantage of second generation of this Japanese car is its comfortable and transformable interior. For better driving there is a rear view camera. And as before, a sport model of Highway Star is available.
