Struktur

Der Artikel sollte mit einer guten Einführung beginnen, in der der Name des Landes, seine Lage auf der Erde, Nachbarstaaten, angrenzende Meere usw. aufgezählt werden.

Weiterhin sollten ätere und (mehr oder weniger) synonyme Namen des Landes aufgeführt werden (zum Beispiel Holland, Persien, ...).

Zusätzlich sollten ein paar Begebenheiten, für die das jeweilige Land bekannt ist, angegeben werden (z.B. Niederlande: Windmühlen)

Als nächstes kommt eine Tabelle mit den Basisdaten des Landes. Eine Vorlage fü die Tabelle befindet sich am Ende dieser Seite.

Der Inhalt ist folgender:

Überschrift ist der offizielle, lange Name des Staates in der Landessprache. Falls es mehrere Landessprachen gibt, sind alle Namen aufzulisten.
Ein Bild der Nationalflagge. Fahnen gibt es in zwei verschiedenen Gröszlig;en in der englischen Wikipedia: List of flags. Die mittelgroße ist für diese Tabelle gedacht die große sollte in einen Artikel mit dem Namen Nationalflagge von <Staat>, der über die Zelle "Details" verlinkt wird.
Ein Bild des Landeswappens. Wir sind immer noch auf der Suche nach einer guten, freien Quelle für Wappen. Das Bild sollte nicht breiter als 125 Pixel sein. Ein größeres Bild, und eine Beschreibung der Elemente des Wappens, kann in einen Artikel kommen, der über den Link Details erreichbar ist.
Unter Fahne und Wappen ist Platz für das Nationalmotto, welches manchmal auf dem Wappen sichtbar ist (falls nötig mit Übersetzung).
Die Amtssprachen des Landes.
Die Hauptstadt/-städte und der/die Regierungssitz(e). Die Unterschiede sollten in einer Fußnote erklärt werden (siehe Beispiel der Niederlande - momentan noch nicht).
Fläche: Die Fläche des Landes in Quadratkilometern (km²) und die Position world-ranking of this country. Also add the % of water, which can be calculated from the data in the Geography article (make it Negligable if ~0%).
Einwohner: Die Einwohnerzahl and the world-ranking; also include a year for this estimate (should be 2000 for now, as that is the date of the ranking). For the population density you can use the numbers now available.
Währung: the name of the local currency. Use the pipe if the currency name is also used in other countries: [[Australian dollar|dollar]].
Time zone(s); the time zone or zones in which the country is relative to UTC
National anthem; the name of the National anthem and a link to the article about it.
Internet TLD; the top-level domain code for this country.
Calling Code; the international Calling Code used for dialing this country.

The rest of the article should consists of a few short paragraphs. These paragraphs should give an outline of the history/politics/etc. of the country and link to a full article on them. Many of the CIA World Factbook subpages can be used as a starter for these full articles.

Die Abschnitte sind im Einzelnen:

Geschichte - Eine kurze Übersicht der wichtigsten Ereignisse in Geschichte des Landes (ca. 4 bis 6 Absätze sollten genügen), der letzte Absatz sollte auf die momentane Situation eingehen. Link to "History of X".
Politics - Kurzer Überblick über das momentane politische System, possibly previous forms, some short notes on the parliament. Link zum Artikel "Politics of X".
(Subdivisions) - Quick overview of the administrative subdivisions of the country. Name the section after the first level of subdivisions (e.g. provinces, states, departments, etc.) and give the English name. Also include overseas possesions. Link to "(subdivisions) of X". This section could also include an overview map of the country. The CIA World Factbook Maps could be used here, but other sources are available.
Geographie - Quick description of the country's main features, climate, . Include link to "Geography of X".
Wirtschaft - (no contents defined yet, should be ==something brief== about the country's economy, major industries, etc.). Link to "Economy of X".
Bevölkerung - Mention the languages spoken, the major religions, some well known properties of the people of X, by which they are known. Link to article "Demographics of X". This section can be accompanied by a population pyramid (see example at the Netherlands), data available from [1]
Kultur - Give a short summary of the country's specific forms of art (anything from painting to film) and its best known artists. Link to article "Culture of X".
Feiertage - A table with the holidays as celebrated in the country. Template for table is listed below. A source for these holidays could be [2]
- Date - the date of the holiday
- English name - the English name, translation
- Local name - the name in the country's language(s)
- Remarks - short descriptions or remarks on the holidays
Miscellaneous topics - a list of links to all the other topics closely related to the country. The four other default CIA subpages should be listed here (communications, transportation, military, foreign relations)
External links - Links to (official) websites about the country.

When applying this template to a country article (which already all exist), it is common practice to create a temporary page to work on, with the following notice:
