Grigory Hansburg (russ.: Григорий Ганзбург) Musicologist. Director of the Institute of Musicology. President of Schubert Society Kharkov. Member of the Composers' Union of Ukraine, Member of the Composers' Union of Russia.
Born in 1954 in Kharkov (ex-USSR, Ukraine). Graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Arts under L. Bulgakov in 1978. From 1978 to 1985 he was teaching at the Poltava M. Lysenko Music College, from 1984 to 2009 - at the Kharkov I.Kotlyarevsky Institute of Arts and since 1984 up today works at the Kharkov B.Lyatoshinsky Music College. He is a member of the Composers' Union of Ukraine (1989), Composers' Union of the ex-USSR (1990), All Ukrainian Musical Union (1992). He acts as a scientific head of the International Musical Festival "Kharkov Assemblies" 1992-2002, as a Director of the Institute of Musicology since 1993 and as the President of Schubert's Society in Kharkov since 1996. He had published 16 books, more than 200 articles in scientific collections and periodicals. Specialising in librettology, studying R.Schumann's creative work and sources he is active as a musical critic, the author and narrator of radio and TV-programs.
