John "Jack" Dalrymple (born October 16, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a North Dakota politician and businessman who is the current and 36th Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota, and a one-time candidate for the U.S. Senate in 1992.

Biography

Jack Dalrymple was born on October 16, 1948 in Minnneapolis, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Yale University, with a B.S. in American Studies. He served on the Casselton Jobs Development Commission, and helped to found Share House, Inc., a Fargo residential treatment program for those recovering from alcohol or drug dependencies. He is a former chairman of the Board for Prairie Public Television, and he was named the Outstanding Young Farmer of the United States of America in 1983. He served eight terms in the North Dakota House of Representatives beginning in 1985, and was elected with John Hoeven as Lieutenant Governor of North Dakota in 2000. Dalrymple is a major figure at Dakota Growers Pasta Company, Inc of Carrington, North Dakota. He is married to Betsy, and has four daughters.
