Funhouse is the fifth studio album by pop singer Pink, set to be released in North America on October 28, 2008 (see 2008 in music).[1] The album's lead single, "So What", has been the biggest solo success of Pink's career to date, topping the charts in eleven countries so far, including her native United States, and also in the UK, and reaching the top 10 in many others. The CD will have a Parental Advisory sticker on it, seeing as a number of the songs on the album contain strong language, such as the title track.

The album leaked onto P2P file sharing networks whole week before official realize.

Album title

Originally, Pink wanted to call her album 'Heartbreak is a Motherfucker' but her record label declined this decision because of the fear of lack of sales due to offensive language.

It has also so far reached number one in Australia (her fourth number one there), and the UK and number 2 in Sweden. It also includes the song "Could've Had Everything", that is available for download through iTunes.

Promotion

To promote the new album and single, Pink twice guest-hosted the new tv-station FNMTV, and the music video for "So What" made its world premiere on FNMTV on August 22, 2008. On September 7, Pink performed "So What" live at the 2008 American MTV Video Music Awards.[5] September 22 saw Pink perform on Much Music for a Live @ Much special. Pink has announced that she will visit Australia during October for promotion of the album, including a performance at the 2008 ARIA Awards ceremony in Sydney on October 19. She is expected to return to Australia for a national tour in April 2009.[6]

P!nk performed various songs from her new album on 4Music on October 5, 2008 including "So What", "Sober", "Please Don't Leave Me" and her U.K. number 1 hit "Just Like A Pill".

A video taken from a secret concert by P!nk was leaked onto YouTube. The video was of P!nk performing the track 'Funhouse' live. The quality of the video and sound isn't particularly clear but the lyrics can be made out. The track can now be heard in full on YouTube.[7]

P!nk will also perform at two other big award shows. On November 6, 2008 she will perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards during a live show[8] as well on the 2008 American Music Awards on November 23, 2008.[9]

The album is now on pre-order on iTunes UK. On October 13th, Sony Music released 20 second clips of "Funhouse", "Please Don't Leave Me", "Crystal Ball", "Sober", "I Don't Believe You" and "Bad Influence", which quickly duplicated on the sharing internet. On October 14th, 30 second clips of all 12 songs on the album were posted on Amazon.com. The CD will also be featured for full spinning on MTV's The Leak starting October 21, 2008.
