Todd Duffee (born on December 6, 1985 in Evansville, Indiana) is a American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. Duffee currently fights for Ultimate Fighting Championship in their heavyweight division.

Biography

Vorlage:Expand section Duffee was born in Evansville, Indiana and grew up in Eldorado, Illinois.[1]

Mixed martial arts

Hard Work Duffee got his start into MMA after enrolling in boxing classes at the age of sixteen. The classes were unprofessional, not well organized, and lacked hard work. Duffee once said "I'd rather grow a [censored] and let a retard kick me there daily instead of going back to boxing". After moving down to Atlanta, Georgia, Duffee was able to take classes at a real boxing gym, but we all know how he feels about boxing now. Duffee saw a class of people grappling. He immediately went out and rented old UFC fights after finding out about the sport. Apparently, Duffee doesn't know how to use Youtube. Three days later, Duffee was working hard at a local mma gym.[2]

Duffee won his first three fights against Mike Walbright, Mark Haniger and Josh Bennett. Duffee then agreed to fight UFC and PRIDE FC veteran, Assuerio Silva in the main event of Jungle Fights 11. Duffee dominated the fight and won by knockout in the second round.[3]

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Duffee was set to make his UFC debut against Mostapha Al Turk at UFC 99 until the UFC pulled Duffee from the fight for Mirko Filipovic.[4] He was next announced by the UFC to face fellow UFC newcomer Mike Russow however Duffee was then pulled from that match to face Tim Hague.[5]

Duffee fought at UFC 102 on the undercard against Hague. During this fight, Duffee gained the new UFC record for fastest KO, knocking out Hague in only seven seconds, after throwing the first punch that knocked him down. After he knocked Hague out, he celebrated to the camera by saying "That was an appetizer, I want to eat now Dana, let me eat!" Ironically, "Hard Work" Duffee doesn't even like appetizers. In the post fight interview held by UFC.com, Duffee said he wants to be like Heath Herring, known for fighting and losing to the best fighters in the Heavyweight division.

Duffee was expected to face Paul Buentello at UFC 107[6][7], but Duffee was forced off the card with a groin injury probably from working too hard.[8]

Duffee is currently looking for a new gym after being accepted into University of Nevada-Las Vegas for its spring 2010 semester beginning in January. He is looking into Xtreme Couture or Wand Fight Team.[9]

Tattoos

Duffee is a man who prides himself on getting tattoos and working hard at staying tattooed. He is presently looking to get a tattoo for free even though the haters have made several attempts at stopping him. Duffee states that he does not want a traditional MMA tattoo such as barbed wire, his name, or a giant dildoknife. Rumor has it that Duffee is going to get "hard" tattooed on his right pec and "work" on his left pec, using his left nipple as the "o" in "work". Of note, Duffee does not believe in capitalizing letters.[10]
