Imagemap-Editor in Tüpedia?

Okt. 2009 (CEST)Beantworten

svg imagemap editor

Hi, i installed the imagemap editor in commons [1], but i get an error when i click the "ImageMapEdit >" link in image [2]:

'null' is null or not an object. javascript, line 256 character 29

the line is:

var languages = response.getElementsByTagName('language');

i also get an error (a different one) in page [3], and the link "ImageMapEdit >" doesn't show at all. Yonidebest 21:52, 19. Sep. 2009 (CEST)Beantworten
I can reproduce problems with both files, but not the same as you - when I click on the image to select coordinates, the image is opened. No idea what the problem is for the first one, the other is caused by the annotations feature.
But you clearly have a different problem. To try to solve that: What browser are you using? Do you sometimes have connection problems when loading Wikipedia pages? (Getting the link and then not getting it, plus the error message, seems to indicate not all needed files are being loaded every time.)
It's a bit too late do anything about it now, I will investigate tomorrow (well, technically today). --dapete 00:08, 20. Sep. 2009 (CEST)Beantworten
I use IE8. I have a general connection problem in the pass couple of weeks, but im not sure it has so do with it. the first image loaded today ok and i was able to use the feature even tho the above error still appeared. Yonidebest 21:44, 26. Sep. 2009 (CEST)Beantworten

Use on private mediawiki

I would like to use the imagemap editor on a private mediawiki page. Is that possible? You can e-mail me "emann at mmci dot org" if i can do something like that.

Installing the imagemap editor

Dear Dapete,

I tried to install your wonderful imagemap editor, but I'm afraid I don't get it to work. I must admit I've never installed extensions before, so maybe that's the problem... I've gone to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Classical_geographer/monobook.js and edited the page to include "importScript('User:Dapete/ImageMapEdit.js');"; but when I force-reload the page, nothing happens, not to this page nor to any other page (in my case, I want to test on this map on Commons). I'm using FF 3.5.4; I have 'Enable enhanced editing toolbar' turned on in Commons. Any hints? Classical geographer 20:09, 26. Okt. 2009 (CET)Beantworten
