Venezuela (has switched to this time zone on October 4th, 2007 .)
The new legal time zone of Venezuela will be determined by meridian 67 that crosses the national territory and divides it into two almost symmetrical zones, which represents -4:30 hours (GMT) different to world time established by the Greenwich Meridian (meridian 0). The UTC−4:30 time zone was the official reference in Venezuela between 1912 and 1965, when the Congress changed this practice to adopt meridian 60 (-4 GMT), located in Punta de Playa, in Delta Amacuro, which is currently in force.[1]
