Richard Stockton (Politiker, 1764)
Richard Stockton (1764-1828) was an American Senator and Representative from New Jersey. He ran unsuccessfully for vice-president in the 1820 election as a member of the Federalist Party, which did not nominate a candidate for President.
His wife was the poet Annis Boudinot Stockton, sister of New Jersey Statesman Elias Boudinot.
His son was the naval officer Robert F. Stockton.
