Flash and the Pan
Flash and the Pan war eine australische Punk-Band, die im Kern auf The Easybeats zurückging.
Die beiden hauptsächlichen Songschreiber der Easybeats, George Young und Harry Vanda, blieben nach dem Ende der Band 1969 zusammen, um weiter als Team zu arbeiten. Sie wurden eines der bedeutendsten Rock- und Pop-Produzententeams Australiens, das u. a. für John Paul Young und vor allem für AC/DC tätig war.
Neben ihrer Arbeit als Produzenten und Songschreiber für andere zogen Vanda und Young mit Flash and the Pan ihr eigenes Bandprojekt auf. Sie hatten eine Reihe von Hits, die teilweise auch in Europa erfolgreich waren, darunter Hey St. Peter (1977), Midnight Man, Early Morning Wake Up Call (beide 1985) und Ayla (1987).
