Senat von Kentucky

The Kentucky Senate is the upper house of the Kentucky General Assembly, the state legislature of Kentucky. The Kentucky Senate has 38 members, each elected from a geographic district and each serving staggered four-year terms. One of the 38 senators is elected as President of the Kentucky Senate. Prior to a 1992 constitutional amendment, the Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky nominally presided over the Kentucky Senate, but was usually absent with the President Pro Tempore of the Kentucky Senate actually presiding and wielding great influence.
