Oscar/Beste Filmmusik

Die Filme sind nach ihrem Produktionsjahr gelistet, d.h. 2001 wurde der Oscar für die beste Musik in einer Produktion des Jahres 2000 vergeben. Besonders im Berich der Musik für einen Film gab es im Laufe der Jahre die unterschiedlichsten Bezeichnungen für die einzelnen Kategorien, beispielsweise Music (Scoring), Music (Original Score), Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture), Music (Music Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture), Music (Music Score-substantially original) und noch einige andere. Diese Entwicklung resultierte oft auf dem sich wandelnden Geschmack der Kinogänger ( beispielsweise die Hochkonjunktur für Musicals in den 60er-Jahren) Seit eingen Jahren gibt es die Kategorien Original Score und Kategorie Original Song, sowie zeitweise auch die Kategorie Original Musical (bei mindestens 3 Nominierungen für diese Katgeorie).
