Slobodan Ćurčić

Slobodan Ćurčić (kyrillisch Слободан Ћурчић) ist ein bedeutender serbischer Byzantologe. Er ist Professor für Frühchristliche und Byzantinische Kunst sowie Monumentalmalerei am Department für Arts and Archeology an der Princeton University in den USA. Er ist seit 2006 auch Direktor der Hellenic Studies der Princeton University. Mit seinen zahlreichen Artikel und Buchveröffentlichungen zu Themen der Byzantinischen Kunst gehört er zu den wichtigen zeitgenössischen Byzantologen.

Auszeichnungen

Slobodan Ćurčić ist von Koïchiro Matsuura, dem Direktor der UNESCO, 2006 zum Beauftragten im "Experts Committee on the Rehabilitation and Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage in Kosovo" zur Bewahrung der christlichen Kulturgüter im Kosovo gewählt worden.
