PulseAudio (formerly PolypAudio) is a cross-platform, networked sound server project licensed under the LGPL. It works under Microsoft Windows and POSIX-compliant systems like Linux. It is intended to be an improved drop-in replacement for the Enlightened Sound Daemon.
