Jodie Foster ist vor allem als Schauspielerin bekannt. Sie machte bereits als Kind Karriere. Ihr Einstieg begann als 2-jährige beim Werbefernsehen, dann in Fernsehserien. Ihre erste Kinofilmrolle spielte sie mit 8 Jahren. Mit ihrer Rolle als minderjährige Prostituierte im Film "Taxi driver" wurde die damals 13-jährige weltberühmt. 1991 hatte sie in "Das Wunderkind Tate" ihr Debüt als Regisseurin.
Sie gehört zu den derzeit bestbezahlten Schauspielerinnen und ist Mutter zweier Kinder.
