Almasbek Atambajew
Almaz Atambaev (Атамбаев Алмазбек Шаршенович) is a Kyrgyz politician. On July 30, 1999, he became Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan
Atambaev served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism from December 20, 2005[1] until he resigned on April 21, 2006.
In November 2006, Atambaev was one of the leaders of anti-government protests in Bishkek, under the umbrella of the movement 'For Reform!' (За Реформы)[2]. He was also involved in earlier protests in late April 2006.
